The North platte was ok. I Probably tied into 12-15 fish in two days. Most fish were about 14-17 inches, but we saw a few guys catch a couple monster browns well over 20. The North Platte looks and fishes a lot like the bow, and is better suited for folks with a drift boat.

Just Getting it going again: North Platte:

We got our Chocolate up in Westlock, Alberta. It's about an hour NW of Edmonton. I believe they have 3 different Female labs, and 1 stud. Our Lab is about 2 1/2 years old and she is Very Very smart. I have never used her hunting, but I'm going to try and get her ready for this fall's upcoming bird season. She has the strongest retrieve instinct I have ever seen, and will stop at nothing to bring back whatever you threw right to your feet. But of course I'm biased! If you want more info, I can try and dig up some contact info. I think we paid $500 for her with a health Guarantee and papers.

Where can you rent it? at a fly shop?

Brutal man, sorry to hear about the capes. If your neighbor doesn't pull through with the insurance you could always go to small claims court, seems like a pretty cut and dried case (although I'm no lawyer).

I thought the Canadian mens hockey team played pretty damn good tonight. I like all the young play-makers we have on the team, and what do you know, Iginla with a hat-trick??...nice. Should be a decent game on Thursday against the Swiss, but the real test will come on Saturday night against the USA. I thought Doughty and Getzlaf looked great.

We need prospects! Trade for those! not 2 guys in NY that don't even want to play in Calgary. We don't even have a 1st or 2nd round pick this year.. we always trade them away. In 3 years Calgary is going to be totally screwed with aging veterans.

I just read on TSN that the flames may have just traded Jokinen and Prust to the Rangers for Kotalik and Higgins (If this is true, this is a horrible trade, unless sutter is going to just trade some more)

I'm not sure what to think about this. I would have rather taken prospects and maybe 1 or 2 forwards from the leafs, then to pick-up 4 Mediocre players... typical Sutter, going for all the glory and not looking long term. The problem with going for all the glory this year is that even if we squeak into the playoff's, we will probably still have to play San Jose or Chicago in the first round.

Yeah, those Opti Switch Rods are Badass. Max and Brian were workin there tails off, but $750 was a little to spendy for me as well. Although they were gonna throw in a $550 reel and the switch rod for ~$950.. but i'm still too poor. As long as I have a new rod when September rolls around for steelhead season, I'll be happy.
