  1. I was thinking for this time of year... would a nymph midge be better than A DRY? For the Bow of course.
  2. Just wondering if anyone has an idea of what types of midges to use this time of year... i looked some up but there are like 15 differnet types. Like BWO, zebra, generic, chronie.. etc. I was thinking generic Black would work best?? but the patterns are all so different. ANy thoughts or pics would help. Thanks Drew. Here is a link to what i was thinking about: http://www.flyangler.ca/components/com_fly...a.php?imgid=266
  3. Yeah, I guess they are not triploids.. lol Still kinda noobie. Are you talking about catching 20 inch Triploids? Because I probably caught 4-5 non-triploids over 20 inches and 1 that was at least 22. I was nailing them in the Northeast corner, so i was no where near the boat launch. Man can they fight.. I broke off a few monsters... and was using 3X.
  4. Thanks guys, Most fish were on Chronies, But Boatman seemed to work best in the morning, then around 11ish-3 pm chronies, scuds, and "Ice cream cone" aka.. wierd looking chronie. Tried a few leeches but i think i have the wrong size, color,or pattern cause i wasn't getting anything.
  5. You can always buy a fly tying kit..... then u know how well they are put together....
  6. Most grass is better for the fish then the majority of nets on the market. But yes, i will handle the fish with care and have tried to do so... minus the rock shots
  7. The fish are tough, and they are on the rocks or grass for less than 20 seconds... they all swim off strong and fast
  8. Just like if you walk within 10 feet of the Crownest river they split like they saw a ghost, have to basically crawl to the rivers edge.
  9. A few more to top it off: While we were in Wyoming, When the weather turn bad.. only one thing to do, drink cheap ass beer. Amazing shot of the North Platte where we fished mmmm.... Bacon Good sized Cut-Bow, or as we like the call them: Rain-throat... lol Mr. Football Horrible shots i know... I try Hope you enjoyed the Photos! Now that I have this Photobucket thing worked out. Tight Lines Drew

  13. Incredible man... sweet pics
  14. Again, very well put. I think your post will save many people who ever want to tackle this long hike from making many small, medium and large mistakes. Much appreciated!
  15. Wow man, Thanks so much for all the information. I really wanna give it a go next year now..lol.
  16. You can cycle in? Wouldn't that be super steep? not to mention trying to cross a sketchy river with a bike on your back
  17. The other link had mentioned you used to be able to rent motor boats from the fly in place, but he didn't seem certain if you still could or not. If you could get a boat on the water it might be well worth it.
  18. Yeah, that link explains it all. Thanks. I guess the best timing is July long weekend. little to late
  19. Just out of curiousity, I know the hike up to fortress Lake near jasper is 25 ish km's and it would take at least a full day if not 2 to get up there and camp, but wondering if anyone has ever gave it a go? Might be worth it with 4-5 lb brookie's!
