  1. Thanks for the suggestions, I'm in the process of trying to tie some up!
  2. Me too!!! but earlier sucka! Sept 12th!
  3. Just wondering if anyone has any Deceiver recipes that they wouldn't mind sharing for some Steelhead and Coho fishin. I know Steelies generally like Purple and pink and Coho like Chartruesse, orange and silver but not sure how to put it together. I'm gonna try and tye up a whole bunch of streamers before heading up to the Skeena in a few weeks. Thanks! Drew
  4. I've done it. with me :195lbs and a buddy: 180lbs on my 10 foot pontoon. It's hard to fish while moving but pulling over at all the sweet holes is possible. Drew
  5. Awesome man, I'll be up in Terrace in early--->Mid September for some Steelhead, Coho, pink etc etc action! (hopefully). I'll have to try and tie a few of those patterns before I head up, never been before! If the water is off colour I hear the "purple Tagger" is a good pattern, they tied it during an episode on "Sport fishing on the fly"
  6. Hey Max, When you heading out to B.C? Great lookin flies!
  7. Core exercises..... Core Exercises..... Core exercises......
  8. I was listening in the car and with like 20 seconds left Calgary scores and I was like "YES" we won. I turned the car off, walked up to my condo and grabbed a drink, turn on Sportscenter for highlights to watch all the awesome catches (Copeland). They finally showed Copelands catch.. But wait.. highlight package not over...... AND the Deadmonton Eskies score... I couldn't believe we managed to lose that game. Drew

You really hate perch don't you... LOL But i know you love to eat them!
  10. So, I was down at the highwood yesterday morning and caught a sizable "fish" about 19-20 inches long on a Double Bunny pattern in a deep pool. The fish looked pretty much like a rainbow, black spots on the dorsal fin...etc etc. But, it had White slashes on the anterior part of the Bottom Fins (pectoral??) with a red Hue very much like a Bull Trout. Plus it was quite hefty and had larger teeth than any rainbow I'd caught before. Now maybe it all in my imagination, but it looked like a Bow/ Bull cross?? if thats even possible. My camera is dead so I don't have a pic. Any thoughts? Drew
  11. You never cease to amaze me with how awesome your shots are man.... Super Sweet! Love the shot with the reel in the drift boat covered in hoppers! Drew
  12. Yeah, after I wrote 30" I looked at it later and your probably right; More like 27-28". I was at wholesale 2 days ago and saw the measuring tapes, but all they had left was a little crappy plastic one for 7$! screw that. I think the thickness of the fish makes it seem bigger than it is. Brian, Your Bull looks exactly like mine, but i think mine had it's Cutty digested further. Sweet Bull though! I need to buy a better Camera, this 5 Megapixel crap isn't cutting it. I don't think it does justice to the fish or scenery with such a crappy camera. Thanks for the Comments guys. Drew
  13. ah ha! I think i know that lake! Looks like you had a good time. Drew
  14. Nice Bull man! your lucky he wasn't a few pounds heavier or you might be buying a new Rod..lol
  15. So i had a stretch of days off this week and spent most of the time on the water and camping in Southern Alberta. It was a great week all and all. Notched a few more milestones on the Belt: Got my wife to join in on the fishing and she slammed a few Cutties on the Dry Fly as well as a huge ass whitefish. Managed to FINALLY land a Bull trout, and not just 1 but 3!! I didn't get a pic of the first but it was about 26" and 6 lbs, the second was a dink and the Third was... well, it was huge. The 3rd Bull Probably measured at least 30" (guess) and weighed at least 10-12lbs. the Pictures speak for themselves, enjoy! I need to thank all the people on the board who have given me advice when fishing for Bulls, cause it worked! Big ass Bully: Can you see the tail of the Cutty in his mouth? seemed like he swallowed it whole! The Wife with a nice Cutt: She picked up casting like Bike riding, in about 10 minutes! Big Ass Whitefish: Trying to Self Portrait with a Big Cutt that is about to slip the grip.. ahhh Tight Lines all!
  16. I'm no expert, but I doubt people want to give up the name of there favorite Bully river and "Go to Fly". My $0.02
  17. Since my encounter with the massive Bull that tried to eat my Cutty yesterday, I have been stricken with the need to Catch a damn Bull trout. I was throwing Double Bunnies, Pike streamers (6-8 inches), Big buggers but the Bull wouldn't take it. I could see him right in front of me in about 10 feet of water. Do you think because the Fish saw me when it went for my Cutty it was smart enough to avoid the fly. I had enough weight on as well, the fly was literally bouncing right in front of him. Maybe I jut need more persistence and stealthyness (I just made that word up)! Any pointers? thanks, Drew
  18. They just want you to buy a new Can! I've never had a can of 5+ year old spray paint, WD40, or hairspray not work after long periods of time. But then again it is just a little more important than Hairspray! I'll keep mine for 1 year past expiry then buy a new Can.
  19. Nice Cutties and brookie man!
  20. It is a Chernobyl Ant pattern. Looks like a smaller Stone fly, and worked like a charm!
  21. Just a few randoms from this past week. It was hard to get a good picture of all the Caddis in the air, but it was hard not to breath them in (taken on the bow): A couple Cutties from today: And O Yeah! One of the Cutties I caught today got Mauled by a massive Bull Trout, the bull was probably ~25 + inches. I then proceeded to try and catch the Bull, but he wasn't interested in my offering... dammit. Drew
  22. Manage any fish despite the crappy weather?
