  1. The Wholesale in Edmonton is totally run-down compared to the Calgary store. I found the exact same thing Bigtoad found, deplorable service in every department. Do I ever hate this city! no offense Edmontonians!
  2. I bought the white river waders for a trip up in Northern BC last fall. They lasted 5 days, then the foot started leaking like a sieve. But I got all my money back when i returned them. I only bought them b/c my William Joseph's were still in the mail, but it was really a bummer as I had to cut my trip 1 day short because the leak was so bad (AND THAT WATER IS COLD!!!).
  3. Did you say they replaced the fan clutch? Usually when your car overheats when your stationary its the fan clutch, but I'm not sure why it would overheat when driving at higher speeds. Maybe 420 is right, maybe it's your water pump.
  4. Picked up a Pieroway 7wt 13'6" E-series Spey rod for some steelheading this season, pretty stoked about it! Really nice to see a few familiar faces at the show as well.
  5. If you can't see the sign, then you shouldn't be driving. I'm guessing the people that got the ticket won't make a U-turn there again. Just my $0.02.
  6. I really like my 80L MEC pack. Great price (~200), quality and very comfortable.
  7. FYI, and totally off topic, but Stamkos already has 2 goals and 2 assists in the 2nd period in the game vs. Philly, giving him 34 pts and 18 goals over 19 games. My bet is the Iggy won't eclipse the 18 goal mark this season, and nobody would trade for a guy with 10 points who is -7 with a 7 million dollar contract.
  8. I've never owned winter tires in my life and I've never had a problem driving in the winter. I even commuted to Red Deer daily for 2 winters and never had any trouble. I'm sure the traction is better, but A/T's with M&S rating have always been just fine. I'm sticking with Tungsten on this one.
  9. It's about that time for shitty weather.... ahhh Calgary, why o why do i live here.
  10. Do the planet a favor, get a Vasectomy! Drew
  11. Thanks to all the guys down at bankside helping me out with my suspect spey casting techniques. Good times. Drew
  12. As long as McIver doesn't get voted in, I'm happy
  13. Yeah, saw the backing more then a few times. I accidentally hooked a ~35-40lb chinook in the Copper and I thought that was the last I was gonna see of my buddies 7/8 weight..lol. I would say at least 1/2 the steelhead peel into your backing on the initial explosion and run. I think my heart rate jumped from 60 bpm to about 150 bmp every time I hooked one. I had one huge steelie hooked up and he literally tail-walked across the entire river before spitting the hook, I must have used a few swear words after losing that guy. Best of luck Riley, I know they got a lot of rain over the past week, so hopefully you will hit the rivers with perfect timing. Drew
  14. Yeah, It isn't much of a secret or anything...lol. Most people don't fish up that high anyway which is kinda nice (Got 3 outta there in 25 mins) Drew
  15. Thanks guys, It was simply an amazing time. I wish I could go back already! One of these days i'll move up there, you can count on it. Drew
  16. More... Trip wouldn't be complete with a few Grizzly photo's: This guy came out of the bush about 100 feet downstream from where i was fishing on the same side of the river, I don't think my heart ever raced so hard in my life. Luckily he glanced at me, but then proceeded to ignore me and catch salmon. Took me 15 mins to land this guy, what a fight. Morice Steelhead are quite a bit smaller (and darker), although I did land a few larger ones. Great Run Last Steel of the trip, and smallest! By by Smithers! Thanks to everyone who gave me a few words of wisdom, obviously it helped out a lot! Thanks to Dennyd for letting me borrow his Buella 7/8 switch rod, sweet stick. Until next year Skeena Country!
  17. Spent the last week fishing up near Terrace and Smithers and had one heck of a trip. Last year I was up there I only hooked 1 steelhead, lets just say this year was quite a bit different. The weather was spectacular, and the water was gin clear (and very low), but that didn't seem to effect the fishing to much. Like other have said on this site, I stayed away from the Kispiox and Babine because both were very very low. Here are a few highlights/ fish from the trip (Please note the fish were only out of the water a few seconds while taking photo's). First Steelhead of the Trip An assortment of arsenal This Steelie had a massive scar near his tail, probably an eagle attack? Ahh Fall A brute! very fresh steelie Crisp morning More to Come...
