  1. Nice photo shop..... or are you just showing off one of those new cameras that take the pictures in color.
  2. Lenny hes old and kinda smells like fish....hes loud too.
  3. I dont know how much money is in the budget to protect the fish but. You can buy a drone and program it to have facial recognition. The drone sits on a charging pad and monitors the pond through a camera it is programmed to recognize birds. When the birds come within a set perimeter the drone will automatically leave the docking station chase the birds out of the perimeter an then return to station.
  4. Hey Broken tippet and anyone else there are a lot of Hunters on this site as well. If anyone has questions the non fishing related section is a great place to ask. There have been some great conversations there in the past about hunting. PS- Monger how do you hunt without full camo on? You must never get anything.
  5. This would interest me also if anyone has some info
  6. I wonder if I will be able to launch my jet boat there and go fer a rip up the elbow to the falls
  7. I would invest in a light gore tex shell and a prima loft pullover that is the best of both worlds and a lot more practical. I have a OR light shell and a northface prima pullover that Im never without one or both.
  8. Any business can be developed and service sold if you market it right and put some effort into sales. I think it would be a slow start and then it would pick up with some regular business over a few years. I think what stops a lot of people is they feel uncomfortable navigating a boat down the river. Forgot to add yes I would rent it. I do have a jet boat but It would be nice to hit the city every once in a bit to drift and to take it to the Waterton also.
  9. There are lots of central Alberta streams that are spring fed where the temps and flows remain relatively consistent. Good for you Jay for clearly not targeting fish in streams that had warm and low flow conditions. Also, NICE FISH!
  10. Chain Lakes is close, great for views and if you find the fish it can be fun. If you want to guarantee fish go to pine coulee res. its a walleye fishery some days you are hooked up before the jig even gets to the bottom. jig with a minnow or leech is all it takes for kids to have fun all day long there.
  11. olive wholly buggers, smaller stimulators size 12 and 8. Humpy. Midge. Adams. That's all I use. I do best on the stimulator but I strip it in really slow so it makes a slight wake. Seems to work best that way.
  12. It is true. Got the info from a reliable source there has been a sale of the land and it is to a developer. Just wondering if anyone knows the plan for the land or the company that purchased it. Sometimes these things take 20 years till they are considered for development a lot of bigger developers buy what they call 10 year land or 15 year land in anticipation of future growth.
  13. I heard from someone that all the land at "Must be nice" was sold to a land developer anyone else hear anything about this or have more details?
  14. Sraak, You should seriously consider spray foam insulation for your project. Especially with a flat roof, I have seen so many problems with flat roofs and ventilation issues resulting in rotten trusses on buildings less than 5 years old. Let me know when you have a design and I can give you some options for your building envelope.
  15. His boat has lots of stickers..... I like stickers.
  16. I know of a special couple streams that I have caught 100 fish on one day and 0 my next 3 trips I think that's what keeps them safe and quiet. Don't see a lot of boot tracks at any of them. Yet they hold HUGE fish however they are a bit of a drive to get skunked more often then not. But when they are on .......
  17. you can have mine if i can find it ill have a look tonight
  18. cast on the grass and find the sweet spot where you get the best load on the rod for the amount of line you have out. Then take a colored sharpie and mark your line. Don't cast past this mark from this mark double haul to get your line speed up and then work on shooting your line.
  19. Sideways is badways. I almost flipped my boat this year on a gravel bar. I miss judged the current and got sucked in thanks to the quick thinking of Goodfly Mclovin he jumped out and dragged the nose around as the other 2 of us sat on the edge of the boat. It happens SO FAST. I have a whole new respect. I mentioned it in another thread but ill mention it again. Boat insurance is cheap it covers this kind of thing.
  20. SHOOT! I hope you get things worked out I would have stepped into help but my boat is out of service right now. I'm waiting for parts.
  21. You need something on the wheel like a boot. The hitch locks don't work they just chain or strap the hitch neck to their hitch and deal with the lock later. If you disable the wheels then there isn't much they can do. Make sure you call your insurance company and get special coverage for your boat. It is cheap and it covers theft and accident, Say if your boat slid off the trailer or you flipped it on the river.
  22. Brent you made me spit water out my nose....thanks. Big fry make sure you get Mel to take your vehicle home you don't want to leave it at a launch over night..... There are no fish below mackinnons but if you do try it out take streamers and dry flies. but dont nymph (gag)
  23. I tried to google that didn't find the pattern but wasted a good hour thank you internet.
