  1. I have heard that streamers are the most effective pattern during the turbid run-off period. Wow, that's a pretty bold statement that would be challenged by many on this site - I personally would not say that!! I, as well as many others on here have experienced much success with Clousers (all black, all white, black/white, chartreuse/white, blue/white, olive/white, etc. - they all work!!) Double bunnies as well and the Bow River Buggers you mentioned, of course. I've had success throughout the year. As previously mentioned in a recent post, it is the technique which is more important during specific times of the year (the colder months as the fish are more reluctant to chase down prey in the winter so you pretty much have to put it in front of them - but there are exceptions, of course) Just my $0.02. P
  2. For this special day you get and extra special hit from the bong! Enjoy! P
  3. Yeah, please add "alot" to the list as well!! It's two words, not one!! "A" & "lot"!! <--poke--<
  4. SG, Where do you hail from?! There are many people on this board that would show you the ropes (including myself) so let us know when you are in town... Cheers, Peter
  5. What about Bauer or Orvis, or... ?
  6. I have the Guide's predecessor the SST and it's one heckofa jacket!! As I mentioned before on other threads, you can't go wrong with Patagonia (or Simms, for that matter) as their warrantees are THE BEST!! The Guide, SST and Deep Wading jackets are all curently on sale on the Patagonia website (not sure on the sizing that's available). Cheers, P
  7. I'd hate to see the fine that you would receive, if you ever got caught!! Good luck! P
  8. Plus all the extra $ to replace those seals or your warrantee is void!! Hmmm!!
  9. Your warranty is longer then one year?! Wow! Usually you get 30, 60 or 90 days max!!
  10. Colin, I hope you win lots in Las Vegas! Have a great b-day! Cheers! Peter
  11. Go see Sam @ A-Plus Tailor on 17th (a few shops down from Calgary Jewelers). You get what you pay for and with Sam, you can't go wrong! P
  12. Euro shoe sizes - 42/43 is like a 9 north american size.
  13. Sun, "most fish"?! Shouldn't all the trout come from a hatchery?! Please clarify. P quote name='Sundancefisher' date='Mar 6 2009, 01:10 PM' post='77979'] Before anyone gets all worked up...Bass Pro did file for the appropriate fish collection licences. They have restrictions as to where and how and when to fish. They have the large aquariums to fill with a variety of species. All the paper work seems to be in order. I have donated the perch in there right now so no perch will come from the wild and most trout will come from hatcheries. Therefore...don't worry. Cheers Sun
  14. Rick, 21 years! Wow, I doubt you could get that kind of quality with the next one you buy!! I bet'cha it'll only last 4 -5 max (if that)!! Lemme know and you can invite me over for a cappuccino with extra love (foam, that is )?! Good luck! P
  15. Nick, Great comments (refreshingly "humble")! Keep up the great work and I wish you success with all your future productions! Tight lines, Peter
  16. I always give this guy from Texas a hard time on a social networking site I belong to.... And enjoy doing it!!
  17. For future ref., get them to list item as $20 and then they won't charge you brokerage! P
  18. Marc, Glad you had a good exp. I'd be curious to see if customs charges you duty/brokerage on the returned warrentee repair... I've experienced both. Please keep us posted. Cheers, Peter
  19. Your Texas ass will be deported one of these days Rick!!
  20. Yeah definitely store your music/vids, etc on an external. But you can't go wrong with a Macbook, even the basic models - but the pro's are WAY sexy!!
  21. Mike (Tungsten) did the cabinets for Bow River Troutfitters, so go down to take a look at his great work!! P
  22. Yeah, I concur with Marc, Grafton has pretty good (Canadian made) suits and styles at affordable prices. P
  23. Bike in as far as you can (not sure if the regs have changed) as the sectiion to Bryant Creek shelter is a long (and VERY boring) hike. My suggestion if hiking is to do the extra kms and go through Sunshine Meadows, much more scenic!! Or if you are wealthy, fly in and hike out. Just my opinion... Sorry, I have no info on the fishing in the area, but there have been people posting info regarding the Assiniboine PP area previously. "Fly Fishing the Canadian Rockies" is a great reference (though somewhat outdated). Here what it says for the Marvel area: Marvel Lake - Cutts to 75 cm Lake Terrapin - Cutts to 40 cm Lake Gloria - Cutts to 50 cm Mavel Pass Lake - Devoid Owl Lake - Brooks to 35 cm Bryant Creek - Cutts to 35 cm Spray River (Upper) - Cutts to 30 cm Watridge Lake (AB) - Cutts to 50 cm Leman Lake - Cutts to 70 cm Belgium Lake - Cutts to 35 cm Palliser Lake - Devoid Back Lkae (BC) - Devoid For each lake listed there are some details, i.e., access info, etc., included (too much to write up) P
