  1. In reading (and re-reading) this thread, I would like to remind all of us (though this may have already been pointed out, subtlety...), one (ultimately) tries to match a particular rod to their style of cast, would it be fair to say that we should match the type of line to each of our casting style(s), also?! So casting ain't just an art, eh... Hmmm ;-) P
  2. Yup when they are larger then what I know the length of my net to be... Bought my retractible tape measure for $1.49 and Walmart in the sewing section!! P
  3. Rick, Your Glenbow chronie didn't break (opps sorry I revealed)? P
  4. Good on ya! Thanks for the beta! P
  5. Cohod, Sorry to hear! Do you need to borrow some gear?! I have a spare 8 1/2' 6/7 with rim drag reel (it's the on the girlfriend will be using that she won't be using until may). I know it's not even close to what you were using, but it's yours until you replace your gear... Cheers, Peter
  6. Or veggie sausages for those who don't consume beef/pork ;-)
  7. Yeah, I was referring to the group brekie on Sunday... P
  8. Bringin my pops and nephew! Please forward details where we'll be camping, etc. and what (if anything) we can bring to help out with the food, etc. Cheers! P
  9. Rick, Don't forget that with age comes wisdom!!! Thanks for sharing!! God bless ya (hope you said a prayer or two for us heathens that used to go to church and now just [selfishly] pray for a good days fishin!)! Cheers! Peter
  10. Ha! 2 in two months! One was definitely my fault, the other had to be manufacture defect... The section was replaced for free, so it was just a hassle waiting for it to come in!! P
  11. Thanks for passing this along Chris! P
  12. TimW is selling one (I think) on the Trading post. I've purchased from him before and he's stand-up!! P
  13. Thanks for the heads-up Harps! Cheers! P
  14. Use a flash as well! P
  15. Great to hear feedback like that from another standup company!! Thanks for sharing! P
  16. A little bit, but is shouldn't be a problem as when you remove the sink tip, it should float again - unless you have cheap line that you have cut and not sealed with zap-a-gap, etc. and therefore will get water logged, but then you can just dry it out. I've been using a sink tip with my floating line and seriously haven't had any problems! You should also regularly clean your line and dress it (check with the different manufactures so that you don't ruin your line). I use SA lines and use their cleaning cloths and dressing, so I cannot comment on what else is available for other brands. P
  17. Interesting! Though I can't find it anywhere online!! Thanks, P
  18. Yes which is the reason for my inquiry... I was wondering if it has been reissued an updated. P
  19. What year was it printed?! has it been reprinted?! P
  20. I was given this book years ago ('89) for my b-day from my sister and was showing it to DrBulet last night. What an extremely comprehensive book. I don't think it is in print any longer, but does any one else have it? I understand that it is extremely rare as I have been offered $ for it! P
  21. Ok, ok,other than CBC, CKUA and CJSW! I stand corrected! P
  22. Good if you drive a lot out of range of city stations (I know a lot of people that love it for this very reason!). But Calgary has crappy radio anyway (unless you stream off your home/work computer), so it's probably worth the $ (but almost too much choice, ya know?!) P
  23. I use a 6 ft section of lead core with a loop connector at either end, works great, easy to switch! Seems like the SA L2L connectors would work as well, but don't have too much exp. with them, maybe others on the site do?! Peter
  24. Sun, 1st off, are they hardwood or laminate?! To clean hardwood both Martha Stewart and I use a sink full of steeped tea (orange peko) - use a rag on the dry side of damp. An old supervisor of mine had me clean a gym floor with ammonia and water (again on the dry side of damp)... I have also used vinegar and water (on the dry side of damp) and all three work very well! Hardwood is pretty hardy stuff, just try to avoid dragging furniture (with out felt pads) or dropping things on it, but scratches and dents will happen over time, but will give it some character... P
  25. Johna, Like this doesn't happen every day on the Bow... talk about ff etiquitte! Sheesh!! ;-) P
