Any woodworkers on here? I had to repair a leg on solid teak bookshelf and had to do a bit of sanding. What can I use to restore the colour?! Oil? If so, what kind and where can I purchase?! If not, what? Thanks Peter

Got one from CDone and want to get a couple more.. What do I look for when purchasing some for 3 wt & 4 wt dry fly fishing (length, thickness of nylon, colour, quality, cost, etc.) - not looking at making my own at this stage. Thanks, Peter

Yeah I hear ya Brent! If it was a day or 2 but couldn't take that amount of time off work without it being a "true" vacay!! Would be great for someone retired or semi-retired, but would have to be in shape. That's for sure!

We have completed our initial surveys of the study area and 879 rub objects have been established. We are seeking field technicians to collect hair samples every 3 weeks from these established rub objects. The positions will involve extensive hiking on and off trail (average 20-25 km daily) and periodic use of ATVs to collect hair samples. These are volunteer positions, but groceries and shared housing will be provided. Housing is located just outside of Pincher Creek, AB at the Oldman Dam Provincial Recreation Area. We are targeting a 5 day on, 2 day off work schedule. All work is day trips (i.e. no overnight backpacking). Please note that this is not a trapping and collaring study. You will not be involved in any capture or handling of bears, and bear observations in the field are not guaranteed. You will get to see a beautiful part of the country (southern Canadian Rockies) and lots of wildlife. Qualifications: 1) The volunteer positions are physically demanding. You must be able to hike 20-25 km per day in mountainous terrain on and off trail while carrying a day pack – and capable of doing that for at least 5 days in a row. 2) Ability to navigate in remote/rural areas using a GPS, map, and compass. 3) Be at least 19 years old and hold a valid Driver’s License (minimum of 3 years driving experience) from North America that has no demerits (this is a non-negotiable requirement in order to drive project vehicles; an International Driving Permit is NOT sufficient). 4) Non-Canadians must have a valid passport. 5) Have excellent interpersonal communication skills that enable you to interact positively with the rest of the crew and various stakeholders within the study site. Conservation officers arrested Bounchanh Bounsombath, a Clovis, N.M. resident, on May 12 after receiving an anonymous tip that he was over the legal limit. An investigation found that the 62-year-old had more than 160 times the legal limit of fish as allowed by the Land of Enchantment. Bounsombath admitted to catching all the fish at Green Acres Lake and Denis Chaves Pond in northwest Clovis. Following his arrest, Bounsombath was booked into the Curry County Detention Center. His bond was set at $2,500. The NMDGFC will seek $8,000 in civil restitution for the state to recover the loss of the trout. “The extreme excess of this case is aggravating. The department stocks these fish for all sportsmen and women, young and old, with the desire that everyone will have the opportunity to enjoy the fish,” Griego told Fly Fisherman. The NMDGFC released roughly 10,000 rainbow trout into Green Acres and Denis Chaves between November 2013 and March 2014. Licensed New Mexico anglers are allowed to catch and keep up to five rainbow trout per day and may possess up to 10 rainbow trout at their residence.

All dedicated fly shops will put a package together for you and usually give you a bit of a discount... This way you get great service and be able to try before you buy. Also, you get to develop a relationship with the staff and they will give you great information and pass along their wisdom (worth it's weight in gold for a newby)!! P

Yet he still manage to hook the fish!! And a biggun from what it looked like to me !! Pretty hard to navigate coming around a corner and having a guy standing in the middle of the river! All was good! Well except for the few seconds that we shared together!

Ha! I recall last summer or the previous one, drifting to close to a buddy of Troutlover's... The guy was in a really awkward position way out in the middle of the river above Mac and I didn' have too much choice... He had a few descriptive words for me... Anyway, as I was aboput 10 meters or so past him, I looked back and he was into a fish!! I thought to myself "ass*ole!" LoL

I hope the squeeky wheel doesn't get the grease, in this particular case... Just my opinion and directed to the irresponsible quadders (not sure they can be separated out from the respectful quadders, in this circumstance, unfortunately)
