  2. Yup, said the same to me, but I caved and left with it! LoL P
  3. Try a torque or rush I have torques in both 3 & 4 and a spoke in a 4 if you want to try for weight & balance. P
  4. What do you need a drag for on a 2 wt!! ;-) No drag per se, but you can adjust an allen screw and tighten it up internally. Works fine for all the small creeks I have fished. Even fished it on the Liv. Biggest thus far, 20" cutty!! Lemme know if you want to cast it. Peter
  5. I'm loving my Galvan Brookie for my Winston LS 7' 2wt P

  10. Way to go Rick!! Unfortunately I'Ill be vacationing off the Pacific this winter. P
  11. Taught myself to fly fish mid/late 80's (M&D bought me a 6 wt setup from Frenchy's for Christmas) after reading some articles written by Jim McLennan. I would drive down to the 22x bridge after work (at that time I was teaching swimming and life guarding for the City at Bob Bahan pool in Forest Lawn). I moved to Pocatello, Idaho to finish off my undergrad degrees and a Master's in Health Education. Met up with a classmate of a girl I was dating that showed me some of the lakes & streams in the area. By the mid 90's I was working in Saskatoon at the U of S. Moved back to Calgary in '98. Started working as a Pharmaceutical Rep and then for the Calgary Health Region. Met a guy renting next door (literally over the fence) that was a former fishing guide out of Monod's in Banff and he reenergized me as far as fishing (so much so that I was late for a date one night and the girl almost dumped me - glad she didn't as we were married a few years later and she out fishes me a lot ;-). Currently I'm doing a 180 degree career change from working for AHS as an Education Consultant and I have completed my CAA Avalanche Operations Level 1 and have one of my ACMG Hiking Guide certificates. I will be teaching Avalanche Safety Skills courses this winter and starting to guide next season amoung a few other things to keep the mortgage paid and flies in the boxes. Peter
  12. Jason, The key is to get her fishing then she will start to understand (theoretically). Deb still gives me *hit as I keep upgrading with new and giving her my hand me downs (she caught on to that trick REALLY fast)! P
  13. Keep at it Jason. As Jay says above, "practice, practice practice"! Also try with swinging with a sink tip, adding more/less shot, increasing or decreasing you leader length, and switching up your streamers. Cheers, P P.S. No credit for all my stories and photos to help inspire your newly found passion?! :-( < jk>

  15. Al, What I have done in the past is use a square of closed cell foam (I think it came from the pkg you send in iPods for repair). Anyway, I just wrap the rig around the foam and tuck it away. Can put multiple rigs one one piece of foam. P
  16. Great photos Marc! Cheers, P
  17. "High sticking" isn't a successful tactic! As it is WAY too passive for Bullies! P
