  1. Great question Brent! I guess it depends on the motives of the guide... In my professional opinion, why not?! The way I look at it, it's a great educational/stewardship opportunity as "Interpretive info builds bridges between landscapes, people and history; reveals stories behind the scenery; and creates memorable and inspiring experiences". Is it always about catching (or is catching the bonus)? Could catching (or attempting to catch) pure strains lead to creating stewardship opportunities!? ABSOLUTELY!! Lots of guides bring clients to areas that are environmentally sensitive and/or under a lot of angling pressure such as the Castle, Lynx, Carbondale, Liv, Upper Oldman, Upper Highwood, etc. I bet most don't provide any "interpretive", stewardship or educational info... (No judgement)...
  2. Ouch! Will he be invited back? ;-)
  3. Awesome plan!
  4. I guess you need to ask yourself whether you like being down low like in a tube, or up a bit higher like in a 'toon. I prefer the latter. Plus the price point of the Watermaster is prohibitive IMHO. Great for high mtn lakes, but again wayyyy to $$ P
  5. There is Jason, You can pack in the auger!
  6. I'll be guiding a group up to Pickle Jar lakes this summer so needed to confirm the regs and I noticed that there is a discrepancy between the online regs and booklet in ES1 for Pickle Jar Lakes. Online says Trout Limit 2, booklet says Trout Limit 0. I think the booklet is correct as they have changed the regs for these lakes as they contain pure strain cutties. FYI Peter
  7. I've been so busy this winter between teaching Avalanche Skills Training (AST) courses and guiding snowshoeing trips on the weekends (then add to the fact that the snow conditions have been brutal), I hate to admit that today I finally got out for some skiing So a couple buddies and I decided to head into Katherine Lake in BNP to earn our turns. Wow what an amazing day. Still a lot of snow left and the snow pack was super stable. Boy am I out of shape (hence me being at the back taking all the photos)! Either way, I was able to mark the trail on my GPS so that I can get up there to fish this summer! Enjoy (vicariously)! Looking back at the Ice fields Parkway Heading on up to the ridge Looking back down the up track The final push Finally! Back for more A look back at Katherine Lake
  8. Side by side Yeti's are finished better (Pelicans seem cheap - sorry Taco, but then again, you are Dutch ). That being said MEC and some Costco's sell Pelican's.
  9. Yup, needs to be primed but it AMAZING!
  10. If your offer is under your "pro deal" you can get yourself into trouble if they find out... If it's not then disregard...
  11. Mustang self inflating with HIT http://www.mustangsurvival.com/recreational/md3153-02?division=recreation&country=23 or this http://www.mustangsurvival.com/recreational/md3071?division=recreation&country=23 MEC has both in the manual inflation models.
  12. Love ours (We have a Tundra 50)! Well worth the $!! My wife was skeptical at first, then she experienced how long the ice stuck around (at least a week)! Would probably go one size up for car camping and canoe trips. A tad heavy and pricey but those are the only complaints! She now wants a Roadie for the car for after hiking trips! P
  13. Or you could go with one of the "SPONSORS" of this site!!
