    Bow Today

sweet pics dude! looks like a nice day on the water!
  6. fishhead kind of nailed it in some ways.. it is a tough gig.. not a way too get rich.... its a form of fishing for me totally different from my personal fishing.. i work when i guide and work when i fish but its two kinds of "work"......you can meet some great people and have some good times on the river thats for damn sure! but it can be a challenge also.. if you dont like meeting new people and facing tons of challenges/ some times racking your brain trying too figure out whats happening or not happening with a river... its not teh gig for you. it can be stressful "fishing through someone" but rewarding watching someone progress throughout the day, succeed in meeting there goal or a new one and learn something new.. it can be a hard business too build any type of rep. you halfto prove yourself then keep on delivering day in day out no matter who you take on the water.. expectations from one client too the next can change dramatically aswell all the way from just wanting too get out and have fun, learn something new, chase a trophy, catch em only one way (dryfly usually)... and its your job too do the best too deliver... you not the one who hooks and lands em but sometime when a nice fish is lost by a client u feel more stressed than they do.. like fishhead mentioned u almost halfto enjoy "pain" or slow days when u know its just not in teh cards(shitty weather, crazy wind, muddy water, no risers etc) and some people think you are fish/weather god and u still halfto bite your lip and do your best too deliver.. i personally love guiding and wouldnt imagine doing anything else.. the "bad" clients are few and far between i can assure u that. each day is a new person(sometimes not) and a new challenge with them on teh water..... and i LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. dope shots dude! good too see u found your way too teh site!
  8. look up czech or polish nymphing dude! it is a great short range style of nymphing that i do when fishing the water close too teh banks... boudlers along cliff like areas , seams closer too shore.. befor ei move further out with indicators and things like that ... im not much on teh long line nymphing without indicators but i know a few who do!
  9. double your line up feed it through and feed you leader through the loop created and draw tight! like tungsten said the fatter butt section of leaders lods better than thinner leader material
  10. if the olive are active they should be on the nymphs all morning and if tehre are risers in teh film or on top dude!
  11. schweet lookin tie dude! can u send me up a dozen asap? size 20 in a tan/grey?
  12. still darker in alberta more of an olive green! the coastal bulls are more of a silver blue... really cool looking fish!!!!! nice fish all around!!!
  13. u jsut had too open ur big ya didnt ya brian......
  14. ive fished a few dozen different worm varients easy if not close too 100 if u count with or without beads... i like chenilles for lightweight rigs and wire for heavy rigs...... dotn matter waht kind of red material u put on a hook.. it will work!
  15. pfleufer makes a few nice reels for that price if u coudl swing a little more money i would say the loop multi is the best bang for you buck!!!!! lifetime warranty too!
  16. sick fish dude! havnt seen her since last may!!!!!! good too see she is still kickin! shes gotta be 24 24.5 by now?
  17. it all depends on were u are fishing dude... usually the old rule would be 1.5X the depth of teh water you are intending too fish. the standard length for a leader on teh bow for nymphing would be 8-9 feet from indicator too your first fly.. if you are dryfly fishin gi usually fish a 9ft 3x leader with 3 feet of 4 or 5x.. with streamer fishing with a sink tip i will fish a 2 foot leader 3 at teh most if you have a floating line 9 feet of leader is the norm for streamer fishing.. hope that helps
  18. dope pics dude!!!!!!

awesome dude!!!!!!! simply awesome!!!! ive wanted too chase marbles for years now!!! such a cool looking fish!!! thanks for posting! much appreciated!!!!!!!!
  20. i love lady mconnels for adults/emergers aswell as my all time emerger for almost any small bug the klinkhammer special! serendipity are also deadly little flies!
  21. if it were me i would go with a true spey over a switch rod. the echo rods are nice(ive bin able too play around with both of the one mark owns 4 and 5wt) i havnt bin able too cast the reddington cps but i checked it out yesterday at wholesale and it seemed like a nice stick for teh price! the deer creek is a nice rod aswell and will do everything oyu ask rigged with a skagit line. another option would be the multi 7120. the one thign u will find fishing some of the lightweight speys and switches is they dont toss larger streamer rigs or indi rigs well past 50-60 feet but if that is all your really need then you are laughin! personally i have ibn diggin my GASS 6120 but i am leaning towards picking up a opti 7116 for a little more power tossing the larger rigs with ease! if you get a chance i would cast as many rods as you can and ideally rig them up with some of the most extreme rigs u think i might be chucking (large indis with bigger nympsh like stones juans leeches etc and double streamer rigs or 3-4 inch marabou flies)
  22. conor nailed it IMHO get a rod u can afford. i would recommend overlining it and find a class, camp or something were u can learn all the basics! tightlines!
  23. get teh airflow 6wt 40+ and chop about 4 feet off of teh front and ur rockin bombs! i woul dsay it all depends on what you like fo rthe grainage dude.. some people like the bottom end of teh window while others like the top end... i think its alot like single handed/overhand stuff... its all prefrence!
  24. i like too wet the hair before trimming.. makes it a little less messy..... i find u get a nicer spun body or head too if u make it as compact as possible and keep pushing back and stacking in more and mroe hair!
  25. hells yea dude! they have some cheap digital scale all teh way up too some pricey ones! totally worth the money! u can use a spring scale too but having a digital with 1 or 2 points on teh gram is super for being precise! no guessing involved!
