  1. i agree with clive on this ... not the best tool too show people who too handle pike properly or most efficiently... personally idont eve like clieves idea about sticking your hands into teh gillplate..... u need a bugger cradle too help prevent the fish from bending too much.. possibly snaping its back or damaging organs.... even for trout i prefer a longer net over a small hole very deep net type (mine has a 22" opening) for this reason.. and we have all seen jays trout nets long and slender.... BUT!!!!!!! being a hardcore trout nut like humble i can see how it is easy too under estimate what you might get in them resivoirs and would figure a standard bow river net (were u put 24+" trout in) should be enough! lesson learned ive bin there forsure! not i pack a cradle larger net or intend too land them in knee deep water when fishign from shore and i think jay will do teh same! like he mentioned in another post.. mega cradle under construction for gators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. nice fish and pics dude!! thanks for posting!

  5. i would go with teh 6wt dude!!! 6/7 eve is a nice rod... i have a 11'6" 7wt ive bin suing most and a 12' 6wt that is a close favorite for trout fishing with indis or streamer rigs and tips....

  13. sick pics dude! keep it up!!!!!!!
  14. i would recommend a loop multi dude! sick little stick in a similar price range taht is hard too beat!!!!
  15. well what do u think bhurt? does it or dosnt it hurt there eyes? maybe taking pic after dark could hurt the retina some but i doubt it could damage them longturm...... and most fish repetedly caught probably dotn get caught as u might think and if they do the over fishing will probably kill with lactic acid build up and no chance of gaining much weight would kill em before a lightbulb does....
  16. i use heavy tipet on the bow 3 when she is super clear in the fall fishing lots of tiny bugs 16 or less..... usually 2x... 1x when she gets off color...... and 0x in runoff..... dont give the fish too much credit~!
  17. ahh what u like the new flava now dude! figured u would come aroud sometime!!!!! good too see yall had a good time with brian.. should be a sick weekend on the water!!!!!!! looking forward to it!
  18. dope pics dude! looks like yall caught some nice fish! sucker are spwing spawers and stack up in the tailouts ...... see tons caught every spring!
  19. cast right reel left!
  20. lots of good info there.. when fish run at me i stirp line forget reeling it.. u can get much more line back that way... also walk backwards! probably got slack on ya and spit u.. a little bow in 50 feet of line coudl mean 3-5 feet of slack in your line easy! when fish run downstream use sidepressure.. go down and against the bank and the opposite if they go upstream do up and towards the bank.... pullin back on a drag raver isnt going too do much in teh long run its best too get that fish off balance and turn it back aroud.. keep in mind if a fish is facing downstream it must now swim faster than the current speed or else water will be puchin on the back of teh gills and drowning the fish so when using side pressure the fish usually turns quite easily... then tip up and pump em..... reel down lifp "pump" up... when fish roll on surface get your rod tip down right at teh water and pull em back under.... i use sidepressure when i do this too teh downstream side... and when they dive deep lift up high too pick em up off bottom!
  21. congrats dude.. we gotta get out fishin in 2029~!
  22. i here ya jayj but it was worth a shot! gotta experiment.. made some sick little dace, sucker, bows, browns n cutties not just silver ones..... but i think in teh flats they get softer and have some more movement...... not 100 on that one tho
  23. i never use too clean my line and in a 200+ day season i would go through 5 or 6 lines easy on my main bow river rods... cleaning them helps a ton! they shot better too! cheaper lines will damage easier pricier lines have better and tougher coatings so it can be worth teh bucks! if you fish 100 days or so on a line i would say its worth a change.. but if she isnt cracked up and not sinking dont worry about it! if the floating line sinks u can keep on fishing it or change it if you wish... some people fish them out til death when they are cracked too sh*t or u can change em teh second they start too sink on you... it al depends.. i still use a fwe lines a year on my main stick and find loop and airflows lines too be tougher than others frm my abuse!
  24. sick find don!!!!!
  25. deadly !! put me down for another walk and wade this year dude! full day will take out 1 or 2 anglers.. on the bow and teach yall a ton of stuff!!!! slay a few fish too!!! bring your lunches rods reels lines i got the flies and any other terminal tackle!!!!!
