  1. hells yea dude! i picked up a digital scale last year at a hemp shop! deadly for dialing in your lines!!!! make all teh difference.. i find if u have a little too much u can sort of puck up a small amount of line off the scale and get a semi accurate reading too so u dont halfto guess on how much u gotta chop off too get it down 10 or 15 grains or even 50 or more! totally a sick investment for one who likes too tinker!
  2. i have the loop custom 6/7 and 7/8 lines chopped for 12 footers!!!!! lemmie knwo if u want too give em a god jayvee~!
  3. a easier line too try and find would be the rio AFS heads.. im not too sure on grain weight.. what is teh grams on your rod recommended? hit a google calculator grams too grains and get one in the window...... anotehr line would be airflows compact scandi... havnt tried one yet but i have a few rio afs heads and love em! another option would be the loop opti custom shooting head.....
  4. happy b-day dude!
  5. thanks everyone !!!!! i didnt get in as many days as the past few seasons or would have hoped(god damn union gigs) but im already in the 40+day mark (including my week in b.c hopingtoo hook steel) wich is a hell of a start! wish yall a dope spring and iw ill see yall out there more with more days off too come!!!! tightlin!
  6. dope pics dude .. good too see ur having some success~! but i thought u werent fishin the bow this year?
  7. good point i try too carry a few different sized of indicators and adjust my wieght and size of indi accordingly.. that is why i like swivels and shot..... i want my flies too move more freely with a heavier weighted leader so taht if the flies do get a knock the indi will go down or pause more aggresive with the added weight on my leader.. rather than take a ton of forse too lose equalibriam too go under..... look at some of the centre pin steelie guys with the big dink floats........ its all a balancing act with the weight of your rig, leader indicator shot etc so that you flies are always on bottom but not too heavy too hang up like madd but u also want your indi weighted enough too float but not soo much weight it gets dragged under from your shot before it gets stopped momentarially by a fish..... u can adjust and tweak it so ti is way more sensative but it takes time.. i wish i had a formula... i sort of do but it all has too do with the water i see infront of me and the flies i intend too fish.. then i make teh decision between with size of indi how many shots how big a swivel after i know the nymph rig i intend too fish.. hope that helps dude!
  8. i understand dude i can cast the gpx no prob a mroe aggressive thicker taper will turn them over better but u should be fine... i can fish 2 different length tips if u wish for different sink rates like a 5 and 10 foot tip or even a few tips like a 2, 4, 6 and 8 foot tips.. but they will all cast a little different aswell as sink different.... but most places when selling bulk sinktip its usually 50 cents a foot or something like that so worse case u will only be spending a little more coin too get a few more tips in teh length u like....
  9. the swivel and serve as teh splitshot fursure or yo can add splitshot aswell.. if u find u have no nymphs u lost the top nymph .........if yo find u lost tho swivel too it was teh swivel that got hung up........
  10. i would say start at 10 0r 12 feet and cast em figure out if its too long for you or just right if so chop it until you find the length you like too fish then pick up some more tips and cut em too that length.. most shots sell t-4 t-6 t-11 t-14 etc........ that way u can have a number of sink rates with tips that cast in the sweet spot
  11. just strike like a madd man and ur laughin!
  12. sweet dude! gotta love the winter blacks!
  13. the swivel set up is a tapered leader 5-6 feet long with your swivel on the end you can regulate your depth of your nymph setup from there.. it replaces splitshot and if u want too add shot quick u can attach it above the swivel and it wont slide down.. or you upsize your swivel...... we have bin suing this setup for the past few seasons.. it saves you tapered leaders and allows you too keep them the same length without cutting them back inch by inch when you run short on tippet...... they come in sizes like numbers from 2-14 i like 4's 8's n 12's troutscape u got the right idea.. less anchor drag more lifelike movement.. also makes it easier for fish too suck em back i believe.. but then again fish clamp down on wire worms stones etc often and dont seem too mind... but that is the idea behind the weighted leader and low weighted nymphs
  14. i think teh flies are on more of a angle.. think about most water on the bow is in the 4-6 foot range and we rig out flies 8-9feet fm corkie too first fly... so keep taht in mind.. no doubt there is water tension on the leader..... rigging you flies the opposite way would improve your odd making a tight line but your top 2 lighter flies might drift up off bottom... like jayhad said it is the nature of the beast and im sure most of us miss way more take before we even see a twich but there isnt much u can do about it when float fishing.....
  15. u got it mr. botangles size and sillouette too me are more important than color but color would be a close third.......
  16. i know when working at wholesale last winter they sold the tungston sheet.. forgot about that stuff.. was pricey......
  17. im all for teh swivel and un wieghted or lightly weighted nymph rigs.. i find i get a little less moss on my hooks and dont drag up as many sticks either but still get them right in teh zone on bottom...... i use too be all about taking nymphs and making them into cannon balls.... but if u want too weight a nymph down i would say tungston is the way too go(never really used them PRICEY) and find some lead tape!!!!!!! love the stuf...... ive bin using it for a few years now and hardly use beads any more.. its the cats ass imho!!!!!! also keep in mind u can make nymphs with beed bodies like 3-5 green beeds and a black beed for a caddis larvae.. or like i do tye alot of copper john spinoffs with wire bodies(i dont use beadhead johns anymore tho jsut wire bodies) but with a tungston beed and wire body u cant get much more weight into a fly... same with beed body flies......... i remeber making a cone stone once too... i took 3 meduim cones with rubber legs in between for legs then i had 4 small cones on the back end and the 5th cone spun the other way too get the nice short tapered back end... sunk like a ROCK but sucked big time when u lost a pricey fly like that!
  18. never heard of it due wish i could help u out! have u tried contacting him?
