  1. bin a hella long time since i put up a few pics so here is a ton! was a ecpi spring spent a ton of time while workin up north chasing pike n eyes on the fly and on my days off fishing teh bow ofcorse and hunting some bullies. set 2 personal bests with my largest cutty and pike too date! spent a good number of days slayin fish with LK and got a few new people into teh sport aswell!! now with the summer dryfly happening and back too fulltime fishin it should continue to be a hell of a year! enjoy!

  4. that was obvious at the beginning teh year imho brian.. we cant afford him and i dotn think sutter was planning on giving hima contract in the first place.... bring in a kiler player for a cup run on his last year of teh contract light it up get fat deal elsewere n be set for life! it sucks but its a business
  5. u can tie some deadly nymphs with the stuff! thinking about re-vamping my nymphs next with the stuff! looks deadly!!!!!
  6. southbow flyshop carries loop dude!
  7. pick up a city of calgary map you have tons of access points! right nwo fishign hopper droppers in teh shallow faster water or inside seams should produce! i use too love tossing streamers in teh deaper runs up taht way too! dont hesitate too explore and fish a ton of different runs! u will find a good number or browns along teh banks right now too until the river drops in teh next few weeks! also doa search on teh board here there have bin a few discussions on the "upper bow" bow in the nw" fishing bow downtown" etc!
  8. scandi nailed it!!!!!!! a relating topic imho would be hauling when you form a d-loop it does help build line speed but when u touch and form teh anchor you lose most if nto all of that momentum!!!!!! fun too mess around tho and i still find myself doing both of those thing when i can bored!
  9. sick vid!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for posting!
  10. i think castus and harps nailed it! im not too worried yet.. might be a different story come late august if we get no rain but time will tell! until then get out and feesh!!!!!!
  11. its going too be a tight race! goodluck!!!!!
  12. unreal shots dude!!!!!!!!
  13. we had a mild gradual runoff this year forsure and no rain compared too the last few years with a large heap of water coming down all at once.. like others mentioned flows are around then orm for this time of year now. i dotn think much will be different best case it has already bin a sick dryfly year and it will continue too on!!!! if she gets low things could get warm and like 5 ish years ago they will shut down all the east slope streams for fishign in a few weeks wich would suck.. madd weed growth brad it what makes oxygen not choke out oxygen they live off of co2 and mak o2 in teh fall it might be a little problem with less oxygen but i doubt it only because the polants once dead will move downstream and be swept away!
  14. sick little stick dude!!!!!!!!! specially for the price they are at now~!
  15. schweet franky!!!!!!! will be dope too see u dude!!
  16. sick fish dude!
  17. u could also do the reddeer river or lower oldman
  18. a given dude! i got it!! just giving you more options brown stonefly nymphs in a size 8 would be another cgreat choice and copper johns in a 14!!! i fish 3 nymphs.. heaviest on top and the point (smaller) fly below! start with 2 nymphs and if u get comfortable with it fish 3! another deadly combo is the chernobyl with 2 nymphs below it at 2 and 3 feet!!
  19. get a map of calgary and u can find some access too teh creek itself.. there are a few i know of one west of town, another right in fishcreek park just off of bowbottom trail and anotehr access off of mcleod trail!
  20. for teh summer dude it would be prince nymphs size 16, pheasent tail size 18, elk hair caddis size 14, chernobyl ant size 8, clouser minnow size 4 and wooly bugger size 6
  21. it all depends on the fly being tied and how it is used.. i find lots of hackles and legs fall off of most flies tied or store bought but if u are rough on em with forceps(twisting them out of a fished mouth/clamping down on teh flies body(forceps with teeth are even worse... same with tearing off the crud u pick up off bottom, u can rip off legs and tails... most of the damage is done there .... same with ripping em out of trees.. fly quality is something that always makes me laugh.. if the fly looks good but has a bunch of brittle components dont be suprised it only lasts a few fish.. fly costs have gone up same with most things but that is the way of the world.. is it cheaper too tye your own flies.. hell no.... specially for most of the flies u see in flyshops..... the thing ive noticed in flyshops, big box stores and online sellers are cheaper flies are cheaper.... usually more basic patterns, poor quality ties and the worst part is cheap hooks..... keep in mind alot of those 3 doller nymphs and streamers have tungston cones, crystal flash things like that and better hooks..... if i were still buying flies i would get the 3 doller ones over the 1 doller flies any day of the week!
