ive fished and seen lots of soft hackle nymphs and flies.. they can be effective and fun too tye but im not too sure if they outproduce otehr patterns... they do make some deadly mayfly cripples tho fished in teh film.... heasdcan ive tossed a few hopper/dry dropper rigs with 2 droppers and they can be deadly!!!!!!!

that looks like bow river water too me... make sure not too stretch you line too much or too hard.. you can seperate the core from the outter plastic core and give you line weak spots and it will coil more.. just lightly limp/stretch the line if need be ive seen this also but oddly enough never had a issue with it on any of my airflo lines... not sure if it has something too do with me dunking my lines and reels lots or jsut a few bad lines out there that too seep color.....

i like too start from teh top and i try too break the stem at teh top first when i start too strip the feather

hey dude u can use any line too single hand spey cast but idealy u want something with a stick back end that tapers down like a spey line would.. my two favroties would be the loop opti stream and teh airflow 40+....... there are a few other lines out there that cast nice with single spey but having a two tone line with a green or orange shooting head with a yellow or white running line makes things much easier!!!

u should be fine for ice conditions dude unless we get some major cold too prolong the ice melt.. the fish should start too be staging by then....... but not all fish go too spawn and not all stage at teh same time so u should have more than enough fish too go around

were abouts are you fishing dude? i like articulated flies! most streamers i fish are 2-5 inches long for most trout fishing...

i started tying what i could then went too super hardcore cool realistic stuff now i just tye simple 2 or 3 material fleis that i can crank out 20-50 a hour so i can spend more time fishing and have madd amounts for me and my clients or friends too lose in trees, under rocks, fishes yaps etc........ BUT its all how u like too tye em dude! if a 40 minute nymph works better for u giver i think the casting rigging fishing method etc is WAY more crutial than the fly.. i dotn think have the best vision and in places were they get the hell fished out of them even a well presented fly cant be passed by.......

any way u choose really... to me it dont matter.. pretty flies catch fish but buggy mangled flies catch more fish!!!!! best way too keep the hackles all nice if u wish would be too stick then on teh face of teh bump not the ramp........ if that makes any sense!!! best part is do it how u like it!!!!!!!!!!!!

it all can vary for me.. some days maybe only one or two.. sometimes jstu a few pill bottles of teh essential flies i need and one with the long shots.. dries or weird nymphs etc.. otehr days quite a few maybe halfdozen or more...... if im hunting bulls or pike usually just a pockley full of streamers or chasing rising fish at night i might only bring a few dozen dries

time will tell what the impact of the economy will have on teh bow and other waters in alberta.. best thing i can say abotu poachers is make them aware some are just ignorant.. but call any of them in! cant the c/o's patrolling if we dont let me know there are problems!!!!! hopefully the guiding wont suffer too much for my sake but i will just halfto waite and see! would be nice if more people fr out of country came here with our dollar being lower than ours but the U S is hurting too and i can see a decline in clients almsot forsure...
