  1. Really fun to see the river in all it's glory. Nice pictures of areas we have all been, and I recognize where you were fishing! Great work, look forward to more of these! Cheers
  2. I would love to call someone in. In over 20 years Ive never seen a poacher or anyone using bait or anything like that. You see the bait containers all over the place but, have never seen anyone using bait. IM looking for it while Im out there. Imo, jet boats are the only thing I see out there that looks or feels wrong. Still can't believe theyre allowed on our river i disagree with the jet boat comment in principal BF but everyone has their own opionion on this. I too do not like those big jet boats flying up the river, but are you also including the tin boats with jet motors? Like a jon boat with a 40/30? Or are you speaking of the big inboard jets? i HATE TO BE INCLUDED WITH THOSE GUYS !!! My boat is always used with respect and integrity and is always there to assist anyone in need. As well, it is an awesome way to catch poachers! Cheers
  3. Geez - i sure hope you are wrong, would be a shame i say. Guess it wont be long before the river banks start filling up with housing, or land development. I have been fishing the Bow for the past 35 years, and seen a lot of changes. However, this year more than any other year really makes me think that the Bow we all love is changing dramatically. To me, it hasnt been the same since the flood, it feels like we are losing what we had, and that it will never be what it was ever again. Never in my years have i seen the level so low. I stopped at Glenmore Bridge and drove down the boat launch to a gravel bed that ran halfway out under the bridge before i even hit the river. Seems so long ago that you used to put your boat right in at the launch, not anymore...
  4. I sure hope thye do! Fun to watch finally, was arounbd when the won the World Series twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not much to do but watch ball right now without being able to fish. Go Jays!

  10. I would think that 99% of the people on this board would be willing to help out when needed. That is the beauty of this FFC in that, all in all, we are all good people and want to ensure that we are there to help or offer advice, or assist as needed. I believe it is what makes the sport so great. People on this forum are obviously passionate about fishing, and sometimes not everyone agrees, but i would like to think that, in time of need, we are all here to help. I have a jon / jet and always am looking out for others and would be there at a moments notice of someone in need. Whether you like jets or not, I will be there if you need anything. I always carry a first aid kit, water, aspirins, etc. It may not always be a capsized boat, but could be a medical emergency, or an emergency where someone needs to get home, or otherwise. Lets look out for each other out there, and keep everyone safe as best we can! My 2Cents worth Cheers
  11. That's a good point Burning Chrome. My point is, that there should be something out there (whether fire dept, fisheries, or otherwise set up for these kinds of events. I know a drift boat stuck submerged in the river is not a big deal when comparing it to a burning house, but it still warrants some attention. Cheers
  12. Nice to hear everyone is safe and the boat has been recovered. Through all of this though, I would have thought that one of the Departments would have lent a helping hand. They are supposed to be there to help people in need on the water and to protect our waterways. Having a bunch of fishermen working to remove the boat without any assistance from the Fire Department is sad, but also could have been very unsafe. (I'm sure you guys took all the precautions), however, they could have supplied their boat, their knowledge, and tools that may have helped out in this situation. Sad to hear that you had no assistance from these folks. Albeit, glad to hear you have your boat back! Cheers
  13. Interesting places to see and explore! Thanks for sharing!

  15. Perhaps a future Hand Model?
  16. For anyone buying a Drift Boat, remember, if you want to fish too, make sure you have seasoned rowers along with you! If not, you will not enjoy them learning to row on your boat, it drove me nuts, so much so that i would kick them out of the rowers seat and row myself. Cheaper that running into rocks, etc. If you don't know how to row, get someone to teach you or watch and learn. There is also lots on the internet on how to row a drift boat. It is not really hard to do, but does take time, concentration, and lots of knowledge of river flows, where to position your boat, and how to get out of trouble before it becomes an accident. Good luck if you are learning, everyone that rows now had to go through it!
  17. Hi Paul Took the boat out on the weekend and it ran great! There was only one parked vehicle with a trailer and myself down at Johnsons. Never did see the boat of whoever was floating. Water clarity was improving and was fishable, however, I chose to concentrate on the ride and chose not to fish. Water was still high but looked to be receding. No risers, lots of caddis, and some small tricos. River looks good and will look forward to concentrating on some fishing next time! Cheers! Ralph

  23. Follow up: So I have had the Sous Vide a while now and have used it to cook chicken, vegetables, ribs, and beef. Simply put, I love it. I wouldn't go out and buy the Sous Vide Supreme again, and would opt for the more portable one that can be used with a cooler. Only for costs as the Sous Vide Supreme was expensive. The veggies are awesome and really do absorb the seasonings, and herbs you add. The boneless chicken breast cooked to perfection, as well as ribs I had in the sous vide for 72 hours. Concerns over meat that contain bacteria (CDONE), were concerning to me, but I did some additional research and providing you serve the food after you cook it, there are no concerns. However, if you want to keep it safely for storage say for the freezer, you can do this by putting the cooked bags of food into an ice bucket, soak and then freeze. Works like a charm. Going to try using it for omelets and eggs next. Cheers Cgyguy
  24. I am always getting the extension chord soaked, and you need at least three hundred feet of it !!! Kidding aside, fish finders are awesome for belly boats, mine is portable obviously, and works to locate structures, drop offs, etc. Make sure it is well mounted as mine went for a swim a couple years ago! Enjoy the added piece of equipment! Cheers Cgyguy
