  1. But... if you aren't catching many or large trout cleaning you net and equipment is essential. Often you will pick up an evil water sprite or water witch (you can tell by the smell). Both will give you evil luck keeping away the friendly fish gods if you don't clean them off your equipment.
  2. I have no attachment (Hardy) to any reel (Hardy) that would (Hardy) be silly (Hardy) to grow (Hardy) attached (Hardy) to a (Hardy) reel.
  3. Baking soda in in water will freshen it up, just soak it for a bit. Works nice on waders etc. I put an open box in with my hardy bag and vest for the winter freshens it up.
  4. Builds a a great bamboo Spey rod.
  5. The boxes are great for boats but for wading I like the Maine Guide waxed-canvas fly wallet.
  6. Wonderful heathery fish.
  7. Very good post mvdaog thanks for writing that. Well said.
  8. yes post some pictures, and give us a shout when you get out here. Buggers Mudders and a pattern of my own...
  9. Would be nice, in the older regulations there was a good description of fish. Quick test here.
  10. Yep some of us are busy swinging dem flies. Taking the Meisr and Uniqua for a wade last night. Browns and rainbows, browns and rainbows.
  11. Read the Bow River reports section.
  12. Any of these rods will do the job nicely. All by name makers and they will all perform admirably for you. You'll find as many comments on rod brands as vehicle makes. I can vouch for the first four, as I've tried them all. Mind you my old fiberglass and bamboo work just as well. Don't be swayed by comments or advertising, It's always nice to find a shop that will let you lawn cast or try out to see if it fits your style. The waters you listed will benefit from fishing strategy, more that brands. -----------------------------------------------------------
  13. Looks like a great stick, hoping I can test is out when you are up here next.
  14. The wolf is now managing the chicken coop.
  15. I buy mine at The Fishing Hole.
  16. Wax on the thread and done. Never had one unwrap.
  17. Red long johns with the flap at the back, up for winter down for summer.
  18. 9 foot rod, brand of you choice.
  19. Excellent, thanks for standing up for all our rights. never ran into this guy but kind of wish I did, just to add gas to the fire.
  20. Actually I grew up the the click drag and love it the sound. The marques is quiet compared to my big perfects and St. John's. Now there's a nice loud classic sound.
  21. Over $200 as you have the case. Depends what size Marques it is. It is a newer one not pre 60"s
  22. Thanks for getting this going Toolman, a great time was had by all, lots of Spey sticks to try, good company to keep and things to learn. Couple of pix from early on.
