  1. Oops a guy turns 65 and looses it all.
  2. I'll be up to say hi and stock it with some flies.
  3. There are also times when a double unweighted streamer right works also. Not only swinging them work but dead drifting is another great way to do it.
  4. Yippie... another free membership. I'm loving it.
  5. The charm of both fishing and women is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. But it's the hope and charm that attracts us to both. They lift the spirit and are good for the soul.
  6. Stunning by volume and quality. Loving it.
  7. Yes but a guy can always use another Law.
  8. Unfortunately all my moldy money is tied up in old Hardy Reels. Can't see my self retiring for a bit, an oil field valve service company just picked me up so I can buy new toys. I agree, that Steelhead bug is starting to rise it's ugly head. I'll have to start a fundraiser for the trip!!!!
  9. Damm... my teeth have always been perfect with no cavities. I love pity from hot chicks, I take what I can get, am considering starting a hot chicks guiding service. .
  10. At least the Government is going to give me something after me supporting it for all these years.
  11. Thanks everyone for the well wishes, no rocking chair yet. My birthday present from you guys will be a trip our to your secret fishing spots.
  12. Pflueger President would be nice. wide arbor and nice drag for those toothy critters.
  13. Best part is new tiers. We had a few ladies who tried it and you could see the fire in their eyes that said I have to do this.
  14. That would work great.
  15. It really does depend on what style of fly you are tying. Longer shank size allows more materials for things like streamers. to "bulk" up the body in width and length. There are flies that you cannot tie proportionally without a longer shank. Such flies like large stones need a longer shank. You really have to gear the hook length sand size to the proportions. As far as gape, I love a larger gape on hooks like the Owner for dry flies. I also use a larger more open gape for hoppers finding better hookups.
  16. Reels are more susceptible to salt corrosion than rods, although I have seen guides go rapidly on cheap rods. You should not have a problem with a good quality rod. Look for a reel built for both salt and fresh that won't corrode easily. Islander's and Loop are my fav for salt. Nautilus and Ross also get great reviews. No matter what equipment you use though always rinse at the end of the day if possible, I take my reels apart to flush the insides.. Saltwater fishing tests reels in ways that freshwater fishing does not. Reel breakage is common, durability and performance of your reels is truly essential so look at good large arbor that can be retrieved quickly. I give my reels a coat of Buthchers Wax as added protection and keep the workings properly oiled and greased. I tend to change the lubes after a salt trip. I'm sure others will chime in with great advice.
  17. Big difference in favorites to tie and fish, it also depends on what waters and time of year as they do change from stream to stream, too big a subject to even scratch the surface on but as for fav dries. BWO, Humpty's, Royal Coachman in its various forms, Adams, Paradrakes, Klinkhamers, Stimulators, and Caddis imitations for a start.
  18. Thanks for posting, a feast for the soul
