  1. Dewalt is our bread & butter saw saw at work, light enough to hump around job to job, Teflon top & fence is the best by far. Not sure on model numbers but have 2 . One is the larger model & the second the smaller & both for being equally as useful. If your ripping multiple sheets of 4 by 8 not so great but doable with 2 people. Buy a good used one off kijijji , make sure it turns on , doesn't have a bunch obvious wear & your good for what u need. The folding stand the bigger one comes with is a bonus. I'm sure several other name brands are good too but the dewalt fence is awesome & quick to use. We use ours a thousand times a day.
  2. Built a bunch of pheasant into sausage a couple weeks back. I wonder how duck would taste ?
  3. I've made a few from leftover air nailer boxes. These are the cases the guns came in.. I scuffed the inside up with a wire wheel and then glued foam in each side. Result was a small suitcase that was maybe 3 1/2" to 4 " thick and could hold a ton of big pike flies. I hang the flies in the foam so the heads point towards the handle so when I pick it up they don't mix up. Works very well. You can find the boxes on kijijji or I'm sure I have a left over one I can donate.
  4. Thanks terry, I did look at a few programs and may go that route. Cheers
  5. Thanks Murray , Going fishing for a week I'll check when I'm back. Thanks again for your efforts.
  6. Tailblazers, $35 gets you 4 frozen bricks that last a 80lb dog just short of a month. We feed him chicken with bone in.
  7. If you do catch the name I'd appreciate it
  8. Has anyone had this done? Tried Walmart and they said no. Have a bunch of old fishing tapes that I'd like to get converted & copies made. London drugs is 40$ for 2 hours of tape & they have to send it away. Thanks.
  9. let me clarify what I meant by mixed breeds. I was reflecting back to a little pain in the butt miniature pincher I had. Fun loveable dog but way too many health issues, skin, diet etc.. I formed the opinion that when you create a micro size version that it can mess up there immune system etc.. In the end he got smacked by a coyote. Had a Weimaraner too, way to needy for me, got tons of exercise( we are in the country ) but needs lots of babysitting.
  10. Last 4 dogs have eaten the raw or BARF diet, coats are great, poops are small & keeps dog lean & trim. We mix in raw coleslaw, bit of apple & banana couple scoops of meat & feed twice a day. Buy it in douglasdale & it's not very expensive . Haven't seen a vet hardly ever. Current dog is silver lab. Had a few other big dogs & 1 Min Pin, fun dog but a real pain in the ass health wise, exactly what the guy above me said with mix breeds.
  11. I looked into getting several 15 years ago, could not justify it do to liability insurance costs or lack of being able to get it. Also what Murray said, also your boats are going to get wrecked. To much hassle, not enough return ?
  12. I landed a rainbow the other day that I held up to my rod & memory marked where it was to the ferrel of my 4 piece. Thought I would measure later just out of curiosity. It was about 4 or 5 inches short of the ferrel & it struck me as being a pretty good one. Your brown is freaking awesome. That's a great one ! Nice work !
  13. Yummy, you ever roast the red ones ?
  14. No zukes this year , not really developing ? Couldn't give em away fast enough last year. Tons of corn , starting eating it a few weeks ago. First crack at it so happy it worked. Elephant garlic, yum. About 20 hills of a few kinds of spuds. Yellow beans. Good sizzling with crushed almonds. Tomatoes, carrots, onions, cucumbers, radishes, lots of herbs. Peas of course, grapes too but not the best. Went to raised beds years back and makes weeding, & keeping things under controll easier. Started with triple mix, added peat, compost & sand over time. Corn is in the ground. Feel like a nerd playing in my garden but I like it. Started the corn about end of April or so in greenhouse.
  15. So with regards to the canals, I've heard that they are really full ? I know irrigation needs to happens but can they be held back any ? Leave some more water in the river.
  16. Is that a tail section from aircraft ? What that all about ? Nice pics !!
  17. I have a complete set of Hardy angels original UK made. The new Korean ones have a different finish, different handles, slightly narrower, a little tighter, but do the same job. As far as shelf queens mine should have been but I fish every one . Value wise the Koreans won't have any collectable value.
  18. A friend spotted a flock of black franklins ? And holy cow is there lots of Pelicans this year, in a 10 min walk the other night I counted 6 armadas of about 12-20 birds cruising in.
  19. Go check pine coulée or twin vally , south of calgary off the 2 but more like 60 min away. Consult your maps.
  20. I've broke several over the last 3 seasons,Orvis, Scott, Sage & finally my Hardy Angel 8 wt. Not sure what I'll do if I break another Hardy , 2 month wait for it to go to UK & back & $300 for the rod section. I've got 4 Angels & not great that the lifetime warranty is so expensive. The rods actually made in Allnwick England factory instead of overseas you really get hammered for repairs .
  21. No I'll give it a go though. Have too many containers of gold beads that are now dull browny looking. Tx
  22. Anyone have any luck bringing gold beads that are tarnished up, back to life? Tried soaking in various polishes & even CLR. Nothing really seems to work.
  23. Thanks for your efforts Redbeard, will try that method. I did just use the sun & it dried them quite well, just a little tack left on them, enough to still leave fingerprints though.
