  1. It will give you a segmented look as the hair has a very nice taper to it, I usually soak them in warm water for a bit as you would for a feather quill. I find that they are moe durable tan feather quills.
  2. Never dyed it before but it's natural colour is a good match for many natural bugs that are out there. Many of the hairs are actually two toned, light and dark.
  3. Ever try porcupine guard hair as a quill body?
  4. On behalf of all those that were involved with the Flyfish Calgary booth at show this past weekend, I would to send out a special thank you a couple sponsors that helped us out. First thanks goes to the nice folks at Superfly for supplying the woolly buggers kits and to Dave and Nancy from Fish Tales for the use of the loaner vises that were used for helping the kids tie flies, in many cases it was the first time for many of them. The show in my opinion was greatly improved by the improved kids feature that was added, they seemed eager and willing to learn. Hopefully this can continue on in the future.
  5. The show is this weekend, why not go and test some out? Testing a few in a relatively short period of time gives you fresh memory of whatever number you try out.
  6. I fully agree with you Taco, shaw has many interruptions in their Internet service
  7. I agree with midgewaiter, you could also look to see if you can find a level line if you prefer to opt for the leader option.
  8. If you don't agree with the poster take it up with him/her via PM. Causing a p.....ing contest will get you in trouble
  9. Wonder if it could used in much the same ways as llama or alpaca? If so you'll have a great new material.
  10. As you all know the fly show is approaching quickly and I'm looking for some help for manning the Fly Fish Calgary booth at the show. The time frame is mostly for the Friday between the hours noon and 4or 5 pm. If you can help out please send me a pm. Thanks in advance for your interest.
  11. Really you shouldn't be coping stuff from other sites, some falls under copyright law; it's better to post a link to what you want to reference. This could save some headaches in the future
  12. Never heard of this happening yet, I'm guessing that there might be a setting that could be the problem in your case.
  13. In advertising the ads are targeted to a general audience, most of the targeted audiences don't know or likely care about the the accuracy of the ad. Besides the cheaper it can be done the better. Most ads are assembled from stock from agencies anyway.
  14. A few coats of Hard as Nails will work quite nicely
  15. Please read the forum rules about cross threading
  16. Care to explain yourself......and while your at it you should read the forum rules
  17. Ever think of prescription sunglasses, I think they are worth their weight in gold.

  21. With the new format seems some will try and break the forums rules and claim they they know them so here they are below: General Forum Rules 1. Personal Attacks will NOT be tolerated 2. No racist, sexist, hateful, threatening, obscene, or otherwise rude remarks 3. Posting is a privilege, and not your right. 4. "Vigilante Moderating" will not be tolerated 5. Replying to offensive/ inflammatory posts makes you just as guilty 6. If you have nothing to contribute to a discussion, don't post 7. Do not cross-post threads. One thread is enough 8. Don't be annoying, respect your fellow members. Annoying everyone is enough of a reason to get yourself banned. 9. Discussion of piracy, and other illegal activities will not be tolerated 10. No advertising of any kind unless you are a paid site sponsor. 11. Use of profanity or bypassing swear filter (using symbols in lieu of actually writing the word) is unacceptable If your post has been edited with "Original Post Removed. (Please read the Forum Rules and Terms of Use before posting again, or risk getting suspended or banned)." This means you have broken a rule. Please review them. If you see anyone breaking these rules, click the "REPORT POST TO MODERATOR" button, one of the mods will take care of it. If you keep breaking these rules, you will be banned from the forums. If you're lucky, you'll get warned first.
  22. Here's something I notice while looking at the user reputation, so far it doesn't matter if you are a +7 or a -7 it shows it as bad . I find that a bit humorous.
