  1. Not sure what the brand is; I used to get it from Russel's when it was still around (came on a black spool with no label other than the item number used by the store. I have also used some 32 ga with good results as well
  2. I use a Nor as well plus a small spinning block that is used to make them when portability is more desireable, eg outside on the deck or while watching tv. With the Nor holding the wire as parallel as possible to the base I found makes a difference and I use a moderate speed, alsoas the twisting occurs slowly feed the wires toward the hook, this helps reduce the tension on the wire
  3. I use mostly .006 dia wire. How are you spinning them? It may be a technique issue.
  4. dead link Rick
  5. You can try to decide for yourself after checking this out for yourself http://news.softpedia.com/news/Claim-Tiger...le-120264.shtml
  6. Terry this may answer a few questions for you http://bugguide.net/node/view/39480
  7. If it's a furniture type piece you after, contact Mike at Southbow, he knows someone that might be able to help you. They had a very nice free standing station at the show.
  8. No sting intended Rick, that game had 2 evenly matched teams and it went to overtime to decide the winner. Don't get me wrong both were good games but there is something about sudden death overtime that adds to the game
  9. great shot Gary, at first I thought it was a riser but on closer inspection I could see the leader..... if it would have been a riser it would havew been the best riser shot I have ever seen
  10. Perhaps the US and Canadian programs could be of more help to the Europeans to help their programs there. Something has to change and change fairly quickly. To me the bronze metal game between Sweden and Finland was just as good if not a tad better than the gold metal game but there again the teams were more evenly matched as are the US and Canada
  11. I hope that both teams enjoy the medals that they won as it may be the last medals they could win based on what was reported this AM the IOC is considering removing women's hockey from the games as they feel it is not competitive enough. Let's hope that other countries programs improve enough over the next couple of years so this does not happen
  12. Another fact that is not known by many on both sides of the border: from Windsor, Ont you can drive straight north and cross the border into Detroit. I learned this while visiting my brother who happens to live there, Iwasn't aware of that fact before that time
  13. This definition is correct, those that submitted the landscape shots, sorry but those are not still lifes. A good example of still life shot is Silver Doctors pic post in the current fly swap section
  14. I'm sure his dad had a tad to do with it.....he's a big fish @ Ross
  15. Still life as it relates to the forum, I assumed that was a given. Sorry about that
  16. If any of you receive an email asking you to wire cash to Faruk Ekich in London England ignore this email. It's a fraud and this was confirmed to me personally by Faruk himself. For those that do not know who Faruk Ekich is he is the inventor of the Ekich automatic bobbin
  17. Your most welcome The 3399 is a wet fly hook and is a favourite of mine for tying classsic winged wet flies
  18. Asking this type of question is not wise on a forum like this as most have no legal expertise on such matters......I happen to know the answer to your question but I will not post a reply to it as it is highly inappropriate to do so
  19. I picked up some push rod the same dia. of the finishers that I do have and am going to design a longer reach as well as a higher reach version.....I think bike spokes could work as well
  20. Which mustad hooks did you get? They make several dry hook styles
  21. Exactly what hooks did you get? Sizes vary between styles and manufacturers, unfortunately there is no uniform standard between hook manufacturers
  22. We should get together and make a few
  23. Looks good Doc. What name does the wire go by? Have you noticed if the frame flexes while in use? Looks like the wire is not overly large in the photo. I've made some hardwood handles that I want to use when making some new tools.
