I regularly see Bear at Alces and Whiteswan. Many especially when the trout are spawning up the creeks.

I have seen Wolverine at Mitton Lake near Golden. Nothing to screw with.

I use my waders in spring, sometimes fall depending on weather, and winter for sure with layers. I often use river pants in summer or shorts but usually have the waders in the truck or in the boat in case.Sounds like being new to the area you want to pound the water in the free time, so as other members have said, buy the best you can afford, and always shop around. Often there are spring sales.

Howdy all, I put a few bucks together for a fish finder. I would like a unit I can use on my boat and switch to my pontoon when needed.I see the outfit Brian Chan uses is the HBird Fishn Buddy. I am leaning to that. Any input re that product or others would be welcome. Thx Paul

I bought a sheet similar to thickness in many boxes at locals stores for about $12. You may find thicker for less but I like this type and set up a michaels box as well. Depends on your budget, but I like it.

Making noise to alert bears is smart, and I always do, but I do not wear bells, as I have heard they may alert bears but attract cougar. Any others out there hear that?

Okotoks or High River, or buy a tent on Kijij and stay at the campground by the weir. You can also have a guide drop you on an island for an overnight and camp. Love those overnight trips. I recall some guys have camps below the weir. A few good guides, bit a lot of FFC members like Maxwell.
