  1. I suck at golf so rods for me
  2. Nice Chinook and Walleye Biggy. Looks like some great spots.
  3. I will be the first to admit the story got my pants tied in a knot, but also agree you can handle it the way you want. Had I have complained it would have got the point across in a friendly manner. If the guide works for the shop or freelance, owners may have to have some sort of agreement of do's and dont's on the water. If a person deserves being called in on, (done it myself for legit reasons), no problem, but this situation stinks. No matter, your decision must be respected. Regards
  4. Pipes, I can understand if you do not want your name associated with us if complaints were passed along, but I too feel this should be reported. I would also complain to the store and CO's to add to the many voices of displeasure without using your tag. Like the others a PM would be nice to save others problems, and hopefully the strength in numbers would start to curb this BS. Regards
  5. It seems I get impaled taking kids fishing. Got it in the bicep w a treble hook barbed and left it to a doctor at urgent care(not so urgent) after the days fishing. Otherwise got it on a double fly set up with a nice trout flailing away on the other fly. Ouch but thank god for barbless
  6. Is that Mike formerly of South Bow?
  7. Home Depot, much cheaper than MEC, in hardware by the chain and rope
  8. Bought me a double swivel, so now no more tangles.
  9. In my mind the BC guide should be fined for calling in misinformation intentionally. I would have demanded the CO look into that, and requested info on what the caller said that they had weapons prepared, you fish terrorist you. Feel free to post the name of the shop the guided for and I and maybe others would call and email often to make them think about it. I hear of Alta plate vehicles having tires slashed as well. I am not a vigilante but after a while would consider. Enough crap already!!!
  10. Great suggestion Pete. Any idea where I would get one? (Princess Auto) or otherwise?
  11. I am about to upgrade the bow anchor mount on my boat. I recently added a pulley to the cheap set up currently on my jon bow. It helps a lot to raise and lower the 30 lb pyramid anchor. I did find the other day while anchored at a deeper whole the other day the anchor rope got fairly tangled. Any suggestions how to fix or avoid this? Thanks Paul
  12. Does't Travers join Little Bow or Macgregor? If so, what is next? Can the algae transfer to the other waters by boats? Sounds like ugly stuff, and how do they get rid of it?
  13. Great pics, and some fat bows. I caught my biggist brown at that same spot, and she was a huge cow. Love that water.
  14. I have been led to believe since the flood, it is hard to launch from 24 bridge. Does anyone have info to post or PM me? Thanks
  15. I admire your concern, and for some reasons can understand where his method of thinking comes from. He still needs a man in his life, as you said a big brother type to calmly let him know what you or others see. I know you are a busy guy, but some time on the river to enjoy and talk in a calm setting is great, or even a night of burger or pizza and a video game. The little guy likely also need counselling, and to maybe join a youth group of some kind. They are smarter than most think. But you see your father, the greatest guy on earth do that, and you do that. He will not fully understand over night, but well thought word delivered in a positive manner and relaxed surrounding help. I spent years mentoring a boy, more a young man(teen) after his Dad died and had anger issues for other reasons that his Mom was on the receiving end of. Any bit helps, but he needs more than a bit, and you can't do it all. Maybe the kids help line or the crisis center for Mom to call. They may point her in a direction for help. This is such an important time in the kids lives that they need a lot of direction from a few avenues. If money is also an issue, I think the previously mentioned services may help. Maybe a call to the childrens hospital can set up Mom with a social worker or psychologist for more direction. I honestly hope the kids get the help they or he needs, and very much appreciate your concern. You are a good man CJ
  16. I would think until the dredging is done the Bow would be chocolate below the Highwood. But on the off chance I thought I would ask if anyone can report on the water visability below Highwood.. I may do a lake pike fish instead.Thx
  17. I have considered the minkota. Does it raise and lower the anchor at a decent speed?
  18. Mine is a 16 ft crestliner Jon, but a dierks could be bow mounted. When I research, dierks comes up the most.
  19. Just bought a pulley at princess auto, but may want to upgrade the bow mount to a metal type. Cant really find a decent metal bow mount one in cowtown. If any suggestions, feel free.
  20. It has gunnel pulleys and a cheap scotty bow mount, came with boat. Want metal bow mount with anchor mount pulley added on rope below bow bar to assist w less resistance. I see on net derks and hyde. May lean to derks with side mount pulley off back to take side gunnel rope feed. Was thinking of nephew welder to fab something for me, but may be worth just going retail.
  21. My back and bod are getting too old for my crappy anchor system. Looking for a decent metal 30 lb capable bow mount with gunnel pulley set up. Having trouble finding one locally.. A friend made his own, but I do not have that talent. Any input is appreciated.
