  1. Thanks for posting. It's Iron "Bow" not blue, Doc. Looking forward to supporting a great new shop in the NW!
  2. I second the Konic at that price point.
  3. Thanks, tf. Got this message last week. I've hmmed and hawed over it long enough. Thought this extension might be a sign to go for it!
  4. Thanks for the info, Chris.
  5. Thanks for clarifying, Taco. TU Canada gives a "premium Winston or Orvis rod" with the purchase of a lifetime membership. Was wondering if anyone knew which rod. It used to be the BIIx years ago.
  6. Thanks, Über. I figured it was the BIIIx. Might call Chris at BRT to confirm. Cheers.
  7. Hi All, Does anybody know what Winston rod you can get with the Trout Unlimited lifetime membership? Thanks, Current
  8. It might be the soaking of the chenille in head cement that is making it brittle. Though this does happen to most chenille worms after a lot of use. Good luck! Current
  9. Yeah! Those Duns look especially juicy! Nice work
  10. Excellent! Any lunkers? Cheers, Current
  11. It might be cheaper just to buy new flies to replace the ones you lost up there.....but I've used Tree Frog a couple times and have been happy with the work/price.
  12. It seems like most of our fathers did fine before the advent of the internet. If you're looking on a computer for a place to go fishing...you're doing it wrong!...imho
  13. Great work, guys.
  14. Some of my most memorable days were full of these , too. But if you find enough of these you might find your own secrets... It's part of the mystique of the sport. It's a feeling you have inside. That feeling isn't there if you get your spots off the internet or park next to the three trucks already at the bridge. I got the feeling bad these days. Spring fever! Can't wait to get out and explore... Cheers, Current
  15. There's no way it was a fisher on the banks of the Bow. Nor a marten for that matter unless you were fishing the upper Bow.
  16. If it was that big and weasel-like it was probably a mink. There's a good pic here that shows the chin patch: http://www.ducks.ca/resource/general/naturenotes/mink.html Nice spot! Cheers
  17. Flyfishing and Tying Journal is a pretty classy read.
  18. Most pontoons should break up into enough pieces to fit in the trunk of a car. The Outcast boats do anyways. Cheers
  19. D'oh! Isn't there a faceslap emoticon for this kind of thing?...!
  20. Thanks for the info. Seen the one from last season. Guess I'll see it again this year.
  21. How was the episode? What time of year/species caught? No pvr at my house!
  22. Amazing.
  23. SA Headstart is a great line for beginners. $40. Check it out: http://buy.scientificanglers.com/lines/mas...-headstart.html IMHO Cheers!
  24. Hey Troutlover, Good on ya for wanting to get out! At 16 you should be able to get started with this kind of stuff but just taking off randomly into the bush might not be the way to start off. i) You should consider starting with a short couple-nighter at somewhere like Elbow Lake. You could hike in on a friday night and do a couple day hikes from there and hike out on Sunday night. You could combine this with regular check-ins with the SPOT device. i) You should have a SPOT Device if you're considering this. link -> http://www.findmespot.ca/en/index.php?cid=102 Anyone in the backcountry or fishing alone should consider carrying one. I had a dream last night that something bad happened to me while skiing and I was glad I had one in my dream! Anyways, just a couple thoughts. Good luck!
