Great pics, Dale; it was nice to get out again with you & our ever-gracious host, Mike. Nice to meet Shawn & Peter as well. Here's a couple pics I took... Dale watches for slurpers... Cookie cutter... Mike prepares to net Dale's rainbow... Dale with a pretty 'bow... And, since it's not really worthy of a whole 'nother post, here's one I got on Friday... Coolest part about being out on Friday morning? I turned around just in time to see a huge wind gust hit a couple big cottonwoods & remove about a million leaves all at once; for a few minutes the air was a swirling storm of dry leaves for hundreds of feet in the air. Freaky!

Yeah,I have no discernible artistic talent ; I find a pic I think I can work with & transfer it onto the wood with carbon paper.

It's never set off our smoke detector, & ours is really sensitive; it goes off every time we broil something in the oven. Maybe it's because I breathe in most of the smoke....??? (Cough-cough...) I think there are some fancy-schmancy units out there that allow you to adjust the heat, etc.; I don't have one of those. Mine is a cheap unit I bought at a hobby store over 15 years ago; it has some inter-changeable tips, but almost always just use the wedge tip for everything. Can still do some fairly detailed work, though....

Did this woodburning for my daughter's bedroom(she has an ocean theme happenin')... It's on bamboo & matches one I had done previously for her... I figure it's a good use for a set of bamboo trays from Costco; here's the third one... Now, I gotta get inspired to use up some beautiful oak that Tungsten supplied me with; thanks again, Mike!

Hey, how about we get together for a day of snagging big brown trout off their redds? Just load up your heavy duty spinning outfit with 30lb test, throw on a big-ass treble hook & a splitshot, & we're good to go; don't worry about pinching the barbs down, either! Or, if you'd rather get out of the city, we can do the same with bull trout; bring a big cooler to bring 'em home in...

Yep, no argument on that point. Mike's such a good guy, I don't even resent the fact that he caught most of the fish despite spending a good part of the day on the oars!

Some sweet pics there, Heimdallr. That's a beauty cutt in the pics from the N. Ram on the 22nd; looks like someone erased most of his spots! Thanks for not just posting the bigguns; the little guys are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

Mike ended with this 'bow on the last cast of the day. It was very nicely spotted & colored; the pics taken in the dying light don't do it justice... A quick photo & release, & the day was done! SJW & micro-leeches were the flies of the day. Wish I'd had a vidcam rolling when Mike sneezed so dang hard he fell to his knees & almost filled his waders with cold river water; just one of the many laughs we had on the day. So, thanks again, Mike; you've restored my faith in FFC! Let's do it again, sometime!

More pics... Mike pops the cherry of his new 10ft 6wt... Another nice 'bow... Mike works a run... Reverend Loblaw (that's me!) looks for the perfect fly... Only caught a couple browns, & they were littl'uns. Mike got a couple decent 'bows in the last run of the day... Meanwhile, I played with the babies...

Just when I was starting to think the FFC forum was turning into a waste of time (with all the flaming, losing some great members, others who post very infrequently, etc.), I've been given cause to reconsider. I had made no plans to fish this past weekend, figuring to hang with the wife & kid, instead. That plan changed when I got a PM from Mike ('Tungsten'). Mike, you had me at, "Fishing tomorrow?" Reminded me that if you can ignore some of the bullcrap, this forum has some splendid benefits. Where else would I get an invite for a day of driftfishing the Bow with a fella who knows the river? So, thanks FFC; it was great meeting & fishing with Mike & Dale ('Avalanche')- couldn't ask for better company for a day on the water! Here's some pics from the day... Mike (foreground) & Dale fish the first run of the day... Mike takes us across the river, while Dale rides high in the 'BassPro' seat... My first rainbow of the day. This was after a break-off & several LDR's of jumping fish; a trend that continued for most of the day... Cowboys by the Bow... Dale fights a rainbow... Mike displays his netting skillz... Can you say "COOPERATION", boys & girls? I knew you could! Dale checks out a side channel...
