After fishing my way up the creek with a streamer, I switched to hopper/dropper & hit a few spots on the way back down. Much slower, but got a few fish... Finished the day with a couple whitefish on the dropper nymph... Hey, Monger; just imagine how many Elk Hair Caddis you could tie from these guys! That's it, folks. Until next time!

Going back to work at 11pm on Sunday sucks arse. The good thing? I finished work for the week at 7am on Friday. Since the fellas I invited couldn't make it, I set out for a solo trip again. Decided to do something a little different. Tied on a streamer with a boatman behind it. Worked pretty good... Got a couple fish on the boatman; the streamer slayed 'em! ...

Thursday; lots of little 'eyes, not many pics... Friday; Gull Lake- lots of small pike & some decent walleye... So ended my week off. Saturday & Sunday were spent with the family; back to work at 11 on Sunday night...

Bye-bye... Fished some small stuff... Caught some small stuff... Hopper eaters... ...

Tuesday: 19.5 inches of high-flyin' fun on the 2wt! From the next run... ...

Had a week off work recently. It went like this: Sunday- half a day on the Highwood with Bigbowtrout. Monday- morning spent helping a family member move; evening spent on a creek with my pal, Jody. He went home, I slept in my car, and... Tuesday- fished another section of the creek. Wednesday- crap weather; stayed home & relaxed. Thursday- sat in a belly boat at Crawling Valley Reservoir & caught a bunch of walleye on jig & minnows. Friday- fished Gull lake with my buddy, Garth. Bigbowtrout schooled me on the Highwood. I got fish of the day, though. Have any of y'all ever caught a starfish in Alberta? Jody on the creek... Mostly fished hopper/dropper for the usual suspects... ...

Took my 16 month old nephew out for his first fish encounter. He was a little unsure at first, but was soon touching the walleye... Did a tour of some blown out creeks & rivers. Got skunked, but took some pics... Foggy day road trip music. Best. Album. Ever. ...

I'd already had a fun day, catching lots of little guys. Then, I fished here... This is not a little guy! 22" beauty; lots of fun on my 2wt! Thick fish... Back you go... I missed another big fish on the next cast. Few minutes later, left a fly in another on the hookset. Picked up a couple more fish... ...

Made a solo creek trip... ...

Some li'l guys came out to play... This little spot always seems to produce... Another creek trip with my buddy, Jody; hopper/dropper time... ...

We headed back down the mountain; stopped to fish Upper K for a little while. I got a cutty & this little bull... Saw this cool Police Car moth... Billy got one more nice cutt & we called it a day... Next up was some creek fishing with my bro'. He connected with the first fish of the day... No big fish, but steady action... (Cont'd...)

Bill switched to a streamer & soon had his first ever fly rod fish... We both picked up a few more... (Yep; lots more to come...)

This moose swam straight down the middle of the lake... Bill gets his first look at Rawson Lake... Looking back toward the trail down to Upper K... Bill had never caught a fish on his fly rod; he missed a few dry fly takes... Gotta stop & smell the flowers... I picked up a couple on dry flies... Had far better luck when I went unconventional; micro-jig under an indicator during a downpour... (More coming...)

Spent a morning at Pine Coulee Reservoir with my buddy & his 2 kids. The kids had never been fishing. Didn't take long for 'em to get it all figured out... The girl even got 2 at once! It was a fun morning. Then, this guy landed on my glasses to remind me to get back to fly fishing... So, I did just that. Next trip was with my buddy, Bill, to Rawson Lake in K-country. Saw mom & baby on the way... Bill & I took a few of these breaks on the hike up... I never get tired of this view... (Stick around...)
