  1. In a belly boat, your entire lower body is in the water: In a good float tube, your butt is up out of the water, so only your legs from just below the knee down are in the water:
  2. You're a jerk Clive! And I mean that in the nicest way of course...
  3. Yeah I emailed the seller and asked where they came up with their price. Sent a link to WSS website where you can get it for $179.95 brand new. Mentioned that even the Deluxe model (also made sure to note that it would SAY Deluxe under the logo) is only $240 new. I said, I have a friend who'll buy it if you lower the price. Just to give you an idea, I bought one on Kijiji 2 weeks ago for $100. Not surprising.. they haven't replied yet. Maybe it comes with magic pixie dust?
  4. Is there something special about this Fish Cat 4 that I'm not seeing?? http://alberta.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-b...QAdIdZ278571920
  5. Smitty.. I can donate an older 6 weight reel and line. Still works just fine. I'll go through my bin and see if there's anything else in there. PM me your shipping info.
  6. I'd say at the very least you'll be able to catch a Bull Trout or a small pike with it!
  7. So I'll do what the Apple fans do when this situation is reversed.. "Just get a Blackberry. Problem solved." See! Wasn't that helpful?!
  8. I was thinking the same, but that's not necessarily the case anymore.. The RAP # isn't there if you buy your license online and print it off.
  9. Well done! Pretty awesome that you had a boat so you were able to scoot over there real quick!
  10. I don't think I would, no. I'm hoping to get a pontoon eventually as well.
  11. Exactly what I was thinking Taco and GLshooter.. Unless you're in one of those bellyboats where you stick your legs through leg holes and your whole bottom half is in the water.. I can't see it being any more dangerous than the drunken rafting.. especially if you're wearing a PFD.
  12. I'm guessing these were the type of belly boats where your legs are underwater from the waist down? Versus something like the Outcast float tubes where you're sitting up out of the water just like a pontoon?
  13. Outcast Fish Cat 4.. used, but in great condition. http://www.outcastboats.com/outcast/products/?id=22 So excited to not have to fish lakes from the shore anymore!! As Taco always says, friggin lakes.. Now I just need to find a pump and some fins.
  14. I love my Scott A2 7'6" 3 weight. But to echo what others have said.. I CHOSE that one after casting a few side by side at Fish Tales.
  15. Is it just me, or isn't that service like twice as expensive though? I just filled a completely empty propane tank for $22 and change the other day. Aren't those exchange tanks like ~$40?
  16. Hey all, Had my first trip of the year last week on the Bow and had a few on briefly, but lost them all pretty quick. Didn't think too much of it until we were in the parking lot packing up.. checked my hooks and they were dull as can be! A few books that I've read mention that this is probably one of the most overlooked aspects of fly fishing.. and it sure makes the different with your hookups/landed fish ratio. I have two questions: I have the sharpener in the attached picture, and I've always had a difficult time sharpening my hooks.. especially on the small flies. As you can see, the grooves are lengthwise along the stone, and so you basically have to stick the sharpener inside the gape of the hook. Kind of tricky. Does anyone have any tips on how to make this easier? Maybe I need a different style sharpener? Secondly.. how often do you guys/gals sharpen your hooks? Do you tend to "forget" too? I know I've heard Jim McLennan say that you should sharpen your hook after every fish that gets off, or everytime you get snagged on bottom. Just curious how many people actually do this?
