  1. Just stumbled across this: http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/alberta/Calgary+beaten+videotaping+poachers+near+Vulcan/7364955/story.html
  2. No doubt! If Bettman allowed the Oilers to be moved before Phoenix.. I would not be surprised if he was literally tracked down by some Canadian hockey fans with a noose..
  3. Yeah that was a very stupid move on his part. They would never move that team! It's one of the top 6 money making teams in the league if I heard correctly..

  5. I approve of this thread.
  6. The Sun isn't much above the National Enquirer IMO - I never realized how bad it was until ~10 years ago. There was a controversial situation going on in the city, and my family was very close to the family involved. Comparing the real story to how they reported it was a HUGE eye opener. I've never looked at media in general the same since.. it's all about sensationalism.
  7. heh heh! I love this kind of humer!
  8. I've yet to catch one of those big boys.. course I only fished the Bow like once this year..
  9. bahahaha.. "Suitcase!" Classic.
  10. There are very few secret spots these days.. Besides I heard the fishing in southern Alberta is terrible.
  11. Excellent Dutchie! Good on ya. Hopefully it was that dummy from the Douglasdale ball diamonds..
  12. Ouch! That sucks man, sorry to see that! Just picked up a used 2001 Dodge RAM 2500 Cummins just west of Granum on Monday night Taco... was thinking "I wonder if that cranky ol' Taco fella is around here somewhere?" when we stopped at the Tim Hortons in Claresholm. ANYways.. I told you that story to get to this story.. we're driving home after just buying the truck.. wife is driving the truck and i'm following her with the car. It was getting dark and we're going around a wide corner and all of a sudden I see a group of deer coming out of the ditch and going to run across in front of my wife. It was one of those slow motion moments.. "Nnnooooooooooo!" We JUST bought it. Fortunately they stopped in the passing lane as she went by.. then they looked like they were going to run across in front of me and I had to swerve over onto the shoulder. So yeah... friggin' deer.
  13. Noone even HEARD of Hawaii until you posted that.. way to go.
  14. Ohhhh man.. my belly hurts and I think I teared up a bit..!
  15. I just spray paint lines in the water on either side of where I want to fish...

  17. I'm pretty sure I've seen this guy before.. he lives on the corner of sketch and sketch.
  18. LOL - sooo funny and true!
  19. Great job guys!!! Thanks for sharing. But don't be surprised if there's 10 cars parked on top of the mountain beside "secret fish lake" next time you go... jerks.
  20. I'm not that much of a jack@ss though Jay...
  21. Have you guys seen this yet?! A colleague from Lethbridge was telling me about it today.. the whole town is basically destroyed like the houses and vehicles in this video! Even sadder.. apparently a number of livestock were killed because they were out in the fields and had no protection... literally "beat to death" by hail. Hawgstoppah - you live in Cardston don't you? Hope you guys are okay!!
  22. Holy crap Taco! That'll wake a fella up in the mornin!!! Yikes.

    Gorgeous fish!! Wow!
  24. I actually had to smack the side of a car with my hand this morning because they came so close to me! I was going west on Lansdowne Avenue coming up to the first roundabout before heading up into the Elboya area across from Stanley Park. I heard the car coming up behind me and saw them in my little 'take-a-look' rearview.. normally if a car comes to a turn at the same time as me, they'll wait, but this one decided to take the turn beside me.. which I don't have a problem with actually.. so long as you give me some room. 18 inches was okay with me.. but when it got to about 6 inches (and after my heart started beating again) I got a bit annoyed.. I literally just had to take my hand off the handlebar, turn my palm outward, and pivot at the elbow to smack the car. Yikes! I think they must have thought they hit me at first because they jerked to the left real quick. Not actually what I had in mind.. but in hindsight.. probably a good result! First time for everything I guess.. most people are very courteous and give me room. I rarely have 'incidents'.. this was the first of the year and I'm basically riding to/from work everyday of the week..
