I wore felt before and have rubber now. Slid like a sonofabitch in both on greasy rocks. Neither of them were all that great in that situation. Rock snot is rock snot. However, my rubber boots are MUCH better for hiking and will wear better long term than felt will. I also will second the notion that rubber is much better in the winter as the snow doesn't pile up the bottom of the boot. I'll likely add some studs next year for better traction on the rock snot, but rubber wins for me.

That tidy little three game road trip sweep through Eastern Canada sure was entertaining! That game against MTL was a beaut! Sure, there could have been a penalty called against Gagner on the short handed game tying goal, but regardless of the out come, it was fun and exciting to watch two young, fast, teams play it wide open going for the win. Great stuff.

My limited experience in the mountains streams dictates that I use whatever I'm told to use by the guys I'm fishing with. Doesn't matter if its dry, nymph, streamer. As long as it works.

When I picked up my Simms Freestones last summer, I was told the bootie was supposed to fit snug. My last ones didn't fit snug and my foot actually slid around in the bootie and wore through the sole and it started to leak everywhere. Haven't had a problem yet with the Simms. (Knock on wood)

My wife has been putting out bird feed everyday since I've known her. She loves them. We have a heated bird bath that they love in the winter too. We have a family of Blue Jays in the area who LOVE the peanuts we put out for them. The recent weather has seen more of them coming by as well. I actually saw the squirrel who lives in our tree eating the suet the other day lol
