  1. I had the same thing happen to my Hydros twice in one season. Replaced the whole rod the first time, and the one section the second time. Can't say I was overly impressed, but I have to admit, I love that damn rod.......
  2. Korkers Redsides at FishTales. $110. Light weight and interchangeable soles.
  3. That's a great beginner rod! The TFO was my first rod and still have one in a 3wt and recently upgraded my 5wt to the BVK. I love the action on them and find they fit my casting style nicely. First reel for me was the Amundson TXS, but have recently upgraded to the Orvis Access models. They are a much better reel, in my opinion, for not a lot more money.
  4. Also look at the Orvis reels. Both the Access and the Hydros are in and around that $200 point. Hydros a bit above and Access a bit below. I have the Access reel on both my 5wt and my 6wt and have had 0 issues with either.
  5. Have you tried switching out the shaw modem? Call them and explain the issue you're having and see if they have had any similar complaints. They should just come and replace it for nothing if that's the issue.
  6. I wish I could help Pete, but I don't speak geek......
  7. best and easiest way is to get a free account at a third party picture storage site, like photobucket or flikr and upload your photos to there. Once you have done that, your pictures will have links associated to them for board posting once inserted into your post, will come out like this: Easy as pie really and likely the best way to post pics online. EDIT Ok, so it doesn't look like the editor will allow me to show you the "link" without it actually posting the picture, which is really lame. I tried to help, but the limitation of the board won't allow me to help you fully.
  8. What's your budget for waders? Both Simms and Redington have models that are both less than $300 that will more than suffice. If you are looking for even less, then I would suggest having a look at some Hodgman's over at Wholesale Sports, or even the White River line up at Bass Pro. That said, my experience pretty much says you get what you pay for.
  9. So, to sum up, in any water over the top, or swimming in waders scenario, the common theme is to Keep Calm & Chive On......
  10. Congrats on number two Dave! One of each! I guess you're done now!
  11. That's so friggin awesome, I just don't have the words. Well done Mike!
  12. i thought it was kinda quiet for a while. When did he get punted?
  13. Adrienne, Its easy to appreciate photos when they are very, very well done. Thanks for keeping the thread alive with new content! I look forward to seeing more as they come.
  14. The show is on Fox on Shaw. I have it set up on PVR. Sunday's at 5:00 local time.
  15. Can't beat Icky for delivery time, in my opinion. With them being local and all, you get your flies within days.
  16. I use a 10'0" 7wt for streamers. Its a custom made Dan Craft blank done up by CDone on the board. Its a great rod for chucking streamers and hooking fishing partners (sorry again BBT). Has served me well.
  17. Well done again Adrienne. Amazing shots.
  18. Great underwater shot of the bull trout! I miss the summer.......and the mountain streams.....
  19. And I can count on one hand how many times I have been without telephone/internet service with them in the last 10 years since moving to Calgary. As I said, I`ve had no problems with them to speak of.
  20. As far as I know, Fish Tales carries a number of supplies for Rod building. Was in there the other day and a customer was asking about some rod tips for a trip he was going on and they told him that they were in the rod building supplies, so I am sure if you called them, they could tell you exactly what they carry. They are also a site sponsor.
  21. My thought........they could raise the license to $50 a year, and I would still buy it. Without hesitation.
  22. I have Shaw everything. They own my ass. Phone, Internet and TV. Can't say that I have anything to complain about. If the phone dies in a power outage, I have a cell phone. So does my wife. So does the majority of the planet.
  23. Like most have already said, I also fish two or three different rods depending on what I'm doing. I have a 8'6" 5wt for dries, a 9'6" 6wt for nymphs and a 10'0" 7wt for chucking streamers. Your 6wt would likely be just fine for whatever fishing you are doing.
