  1. I put little 1 way contacts just to prevent this on sea kittens.... just sometimes I forget to take them off.... oh well there's lot's of fish out there
  2. Bandee in BC they clip the adipose fins of the hatchery stocks, and yes I get intimate with the fishys
  3. in Calgary i think slim, there are generally more higher items that are grounded but in the middle of a lake you r fd
  4. I know Sage's turn around time is completely dependant if they have the product in stock, but my only experience with Sage warranties has been rod based.
  5. Ya i generally mark the fish... I cut off a pectoral or pelvic fin, sometimes if i feel like doing no harm I'l just clip the adapose (sp). Seriously I take a close up pic of every fish's face on their left side. The dude in the Loop hat with the short hair.... well that's me 56 weeks of no hair cutting was enough for my wife when we both had to be in the wedding party of some very close friends... my wife said "no way are your going to Dom's wedding looking like a 70's porn star. well off to the river...
  6. Staff behind the counter should have already had criminal checks completed as they need a PAL to work behin the gun counters
  7. Here you go, hope you guys like them. I took out the pics of the bull trout bloodied on beaches so there is no reason to complain. Had a pretty decent April, I was fortunate to get out 20 times on the Bow and a few more times on streams else where and still pay my mortgage. I saw some wicked fish this month and it was really eye opening to experience the way the fish are warming up and fighting dramatically stronger then they were 5-6 weeks ago. We are spoiled to have this in our backyard.... some of you literally. My fishing buddies got many larger fish, several were over 24". Myself not so lucky everything I landed tapped out at 22ish. I guess being on the not so good side of the camera isn't so bad. I wish I could show guys the pic of the 32" rainbow one of the clowns on this forum caught, but I was sworn to never mention it publically so I will have to be labeled a liar. Those of you that have seen the pic will need to back me up with this legend. I noticed there were a bunch of suckas caught this month, is that typical? I had a day were I landed 3 2 of which were back to back and one day Roach landed 4 back to back. enjoy the pics and tight lines
  8. tightline don't sweat it, I have lost several big fish this year.... I have decided it's my destiny Personally I think my issue is my rod is to stiff so when I get the mad head shakes the rod doesn't flex, so something has to give and it is generally fish lip or my small midges get straightened out. I can't get my new spey soon enough
  9. That's interesting I would have thought having the dominant hand on the rod and reel with the less dominant hand would be best. Thanks for the info.....
  10. Not economically fiasable as then the only differnces would be guides, seat, cork and thread, I think if you weighed corresponding models (490 vs 490) you would find their weight is not the same... did you hear this from retail store staff? I don't think Sage uses the same madrels (sp?) with in seperate model classes, so the tapers are different as well to match the individual composite mixes Jay
  11. Ayr nice fish dude... I 'll get my April pics up in the next few as well. I don't see any piker pics .... May try to join you up there in a few weeks
  12. I was looking at them last week at Fish Tales, definately something to consider but the cost sure makes them unattractive
  13. Andy I switched up hooks about 1.5 weeks ago to diachis now and same thing as the fly's I got from wholesale
  14. Good post Bandee, lately myself I have been losing many fish from bent hooks I have tried a couple of different manufacturers but it seems everytime I hook a fish on the midge, it bends. I have been spending time trying to iron that out as it costs me more fish then I land
  15. That bully water looks awesome, nothing like seeing monsters in such clear water, thanks for the pics
  16. No i haven't, I didn't know they were still in business until I searched them on the web. They will sell direct though.
  17. I just recently had a great experience myself, I purchased this saw 15 years ago. I use it A LOT when fishing/camping/hunting ect. I noticed the blade wasn't fitting so well so I contacted them asking for a blade replacement. They told me that model of saw was defective and they would be happy to send me the new current model at no charge, no shipping. Here is the new one I recieved http://www.trailblazerproducts.com/product...showcase/?id=27 ... virtually identical to the original. http://www.trailblazerproducts.com/
  18. I guided for a few years on the rivers of the Lower mainland, and that really isn't hard fishing, when rolling for salmon..... I can only imagine the pressure the guides must feel when running clients on the Bow, world famous and some times not a trout in sight Good Luck, the most important thing in MY OPINION is to be able to show your clients the adventure..... but I haven't guided for almost 15 years.
  19. Personally I catch more browns to rainbows about 3-1, I will have to crunch numbers from my journal to get an exact ratio..... I wish it was the other way around but I tend to find I am always a few browns in for the day and left searching for bows. Maybe that will change for me this season as I am spending WAY more time on the bow lately...... damn bow with it's addictive super awesome feesh. I can't imagine a place in the world where I could be surronded with garbage and have as much fun
