  1. Was there today......WOW, the mounts are incredible. An employee stated they spent $40,000,000 on the displays. they do carry simms
  2. Have you looked at the new Sage Click? I have the Click I on its way, the II is 2 3/8 onces, large arbour http://www.sageflyfish.com/dyn_prodlist.php?k=132673 The Amundson is nice I really dig the look of 420's and the price is very nice
  3. I am pretty sure the REAL Jay Jones can get water master products, drop him a pm
  4. True, Wes. One of our fishing buddies has that net, but when William Joseph was doing their R&D perhaps they should have fished better waters. The net is super cool, but the fabric isn't deep enough and anything over 18" has an easy time of popping out. Sure is cool though
  5. Flyfishfairwx a very fair question I'll answer for Jer as I fish with him 95% of the time and pretty much 100% when the fishing isn't happening on the bow. If it gets to the point where we are able to see a decline in stream populations I can guarentee the eating will stop. But most of places we are fishing contain brookies and that is what we tend to eat. We did fish a lake last year that allowed us 2 cutties each and we took our limit..... but that is a 14K hike round trip so the fish went right into our bellys. 1) 420 doesn't fish many areas that are stocked 2) we only ever take 1 or 2 fish (unless it is brookies then you need a few), a maximum of 3 times a year per water source 3) there is virtually no one fishing the streams we fish, so the areas see virtually no pressure. Of the 20+ times we were stream fishing last year in the foothils we never saw another angler, or evidence of people period. Our foot prints would be there from the previous week. 4) only in the mountians because the only other water jer fishes is the Bow. mmmmmmm brookies, June 16th hurry up Jay

  10. I know you didn't mention the Bare jackets, but they may be worth a look. I have one, teh Kodiac model. I have worn it for almost a season with no issues. The thing i liked about it is that it doesn't look like a fishing specific jacket. It maintained it's water proofness during 3 days of fishing in october in BC that was like being in a shower
  11. I right now I carry 1 nymph and 1 streamer box. During summer I may carry both streamer boxes, teh nymphs and then teh drys. I am partial to the >$10 big Caddis boxes. They are cheap the foam is cheap but they hold up well and they are under $10
  12. Awesome, they are a sight to behold aren't they

    Nice feesh man.
  14. Sorry guys I thought MEC was in support of PETA, I heard what the CEO said second hand. My mistake. Those Outdoor Research Dry comp packs are a great deal, it appears you can purchase them directly.
  15. Hey guys I dig MEC, but I have stopped shopping there due to MEC's support of PETA, the douces who are trying to get fishing banned. Sorry for the thread highjack.
  16. I don't have a problem with slick shooter coiling after i limp it, it just slips through my fingers to easily sometimes
  17. Do you find it easier to hang on to when your hands are a little colder. I find every once in a while the slick shooter flys out of my fingers.
  18. here you go buck http://www.fish307.com/index.asp?PageActio...amp;ProdID=1140
  19. I never said people were mistreating fish by using lighter tackle, I said it was easier with the 9 wt. My justification for using my 9wt, is because that's what I have. Wow man this thread is just another reason not to post here anymore, everyone has opinion on how others are fishing "wrong." Some of you dudes realy need to get out on the water and away from the computer.
  20. maybe the 9 wt is to big for the bow...... i am not going to make that decision as I have met a few guys that use 9wts double handers on the bow I bought the rod for Steelhead, bulls and other larger fish..... but I only BOUGHT 1 spey rod. I originally thought the rod was to big for the bow as well but after meeting a few guys that use the 9wt on the bow I figured I would give it try. Is it wrong.... i don't think so anymore, ideally I would be using a 11'6" 6wt but I don't have one spey rod. the nice thing about the 9 wt is the fish is in, off the hook, and back in the water quickly. JMasson I could show you a few places in Alberta where you NEED 15' of T14 for 30"+ fish, but none I have found are on the Bow.
  21. So I have been fighting the urge to use my Spey rod on the Bow. I have a 9wt 13'2" and I always thought it was to big, plus I hated teh scandi line i have on it as I bought it to huck streamers. 420flyfisherman has teh same rod as me and hes has been doing well chucking nymph rigs. After fishing with Bhurt, my eyes were opened and I decided to start using my spey again. Well today I took it out and had a great time. I missed several fish as I found with such long casts I had a good amount of slack in my line, but I am working on that. I did happen to score a nice 20" brown to hand though, so all in all a great day to cast bombs. Thanks Spey community Jay
  22. So cool to see any cat in the wild is a treat, you are very lucky
  23. I grew up in the BC Lower Mainland and I have travelled a fair bit, but I always feel right at home here in calgary. Yes the lower mainland has wicked salmon fishing but the other 7 months really kind of suck (in my opinion) and the rain really does effect me, I don't know what it is but I would rather it be -20 and sunny then +2 and raining. I love teh fishing around here and the mountains. If I had to move it would probably be to the Meth capital/armpit of Canada.... Port Alberni, there is so much fishing on teh island it would be nice to smack dab in the middle of it. Plus with all the problems PA is having property is dirt cheap you can get property on the Stamp River for the cost of a garage in calgary
