  1. I have no problem with other types of fishing as I said previously, but fly fishing is the generally accepted as the use of fly rod, fly line and then fly. Most styles of fishing use the lure to provide mass to create the enegery to cast, fly fishing uses a marriage between the line and rod. Pretty much if you reel is lined with mono, I don't accept it as fly fishing, but really who cares are you out there to catch fish and have a good time or start interweb arguements?
  2. Love the big pikeys
  3. I used to use a centre pin drift fishing on bc's coastal rivers. I have no problem with it. I still fish other methods other then fly fishing when need be.
  4. I don't understand how so many people can just turn a blind eye to his abuse he dealt out to kids..... I could care less if another pedophile died...... sorry accused pedophile, yes that one boy was able to describe his penis in detail but he must have guessed Jesus juice eh
  5. Nice pics the bullies look great. That little cuttie lake is s a blast... mistakenly hiked my tube into there not knowing it wasn't needed got some pics of a great big grizzly up there today
  6. great video man, did you do the editing work? how long were you guys there?
  7. I'm hunting for bullies, hopefully
  8. I've done it and so have a few of my buddies. Some will think it's crazy but there is no reason you can't use the same type of dingy that 1000s use to catch rays and drink beer in. I have fished from a raft and used it to get to hard to reach areas. Sure it's not a drift boat but it's not $7000+. Several time last summer I went from Bear's Paw to the elbow confluence. You should be able to cast seated but you pretty much need another person to row but it's good times to switch on and off with each fish.
  9. cool bruin. great pics of em as well
  10. the inter-changeable soles of my korkers WILL NOT stay in, I always feel a little unbalanced. I won't get a pair again.
  11. Hey don't know how but it looks like I dropped one of my boxes today out at the upper K. It's a black Caddis box with streamers in it. It has my name and phone # on it so if you find it and want some good Karma I would dig having it back. Well I better get to the tying bench. Thanks Jay
  12. Awesome pics they look great are you shooting a DSLR?
  13. maybe i am niave but how does this happen, if I am at a management posistion in a small company and things don't get done for 23 days (let alone 23 years) I get my a$$ fired. How does this go one for 23 years.... that is uncomprehensible to me..... must be a great place to work though........ "boss i forgot to check out that fish habitat before we signed off on that the project" "Don't worry our salmon stocks are fine"
  14. Yes, I don't know how it is done, but only because I havent looked into really. Up at Cheif Hector they just finished installing a wind driven aeration system.
  15. That's awesome, did you get it up in the NW???
  16. Where did you hear that? It seems a waste to keep all the mandrels, carbon and scrim in Bainbridge if they are manufacturing the rods else where.
  17. not dirty, safe to look at and appreciatte the amount of work that went into this. http://link.brightcove.com/services/player...tid=17075685001
  18. Now I am not a pro, but I do use Rio lines 95% of the time a lot of those times on Redington sticks. I have used a Mainstream and Gold on the same rod (a 6wt)and the mainstream doesn't come close to the Gold in line control or castability. What type of fishing are you doing? if you are solely using this rod for nymphing the Rio Nymph Line is pretty good. The Rio Grand casts wicked on the new CPXs and other fast action rods. The point at which your rod loads with the Grands is quite noticable. Having the head all jammed up in 38' compared to most lines at 45-50' will make you feel like you are a pro caster and it crushes wind.
  19. That is a good report. No fluff, simple, concise and to the point. It makes it very easy to see the water managment at work with this type of report. I do have a question and I am not saying things were done wrong, this isn't a critisism. Why give written warnings? I think the idea of violations is to teach a lesson so this doesn't happen again. If angler "a" always uses barbs but never gets a violations what is the point. I think barbed hooks are probably the number 1 violation out there so why not hit these offenders where it hurts??? Like I said I am not complaining or saying it should be done different I am just wondering, what are your thoughts?
  20. I'm a Flames fan... so first of I clearly know hockey better then any of you oiler's fans so in my Calgary Flames opinion Quinn is a great grab for Deadmonton, he has led many teams to the middle of the NHL pack, and that's a real boost for the Oilers. City of Champions.... more like city of memories......... sorry I couldn't help myself
  21. I put a bunch of fly tying material away and opened it back up after 12 years. Most everything has survived, but some finer feathers fell apart. Stuff like peacock or ostrich hurl, but none of my capes were affected and one package of elk hair got brittle. All of my stuff was just in the original bags in cardboard boxing. I think UVs would be your worst enemy so a peg board may not be the best place.
  22. Gollam AKA Roach with a great brown Again not where you think Dekkard with a Greyling Paul with a good sized brookie Sage TXL 2wt and Sage Click II Mad Brookie
  23. Redington CDL Ti 5/6 Jeremy thinking "I wish I had a put more time in today before i pic-pocketed this fish right in front of Jay" Such nice colours, you'd think it was fall The lonely guy not catching fish this day in the background..... it was me, I was happy to just be out the feesh don't really matter upper bow again
