  1. I pretty much fish dungeons exclusively now, sneaky is right with his colours, but I would add yellow/olive.
  2. fishy our section opens again soon, and we will get into the boat
  3. Hey dude trying to get a hold of you. I smashed my phone
  4. Flood mitigation is being smart enough to know not to buy property in a flood plain that you aren't prepared to lose. Floods, which will continue to happen will soon teach people that there aren't solutions except get out of the way. Harry passage, class 2 was essentially wiped off the map, and that was planned to contain the waters. This process is a complete waste of yours and my tax dollars
  5. Troutfriend, thank you for the info, that said what can we do, I have been emailing, writing and calling city staffers about Bow river boat access for over 3 years and I've never had a response except for automated "thank-you for you input" form letters.
  6. DRock, I've heard that scadden can be a real loser to deal with, did you buy your's direct?
  7. Hey all, I'm in the market for a single man pontoon. I want something for mainly lakes, that has a motor mount and possibly a standing deck. What are your thoughts?
  8. two feet and a heart beat, read Blue Ribbon Bow by Master Jim, repeat realistically you are only a few months behind all of us, the river is basically new since the floods. The river fishes better below bonny brock sewer treatment plant.
  9. Right you are on another drift, I lost an anchor and when we found it, it was at about 4 1/2' deep on a chilly fall day and CJ just dropped underwater and grabbed it. Stand up guy, I've had some of my best drifts with him
  10. Those of you that haven't fished with CJ take the opportunity,During the first time I fished with CJ I knew he was a stand up guy. After releasing a fish that went belly up he turns to me and says "hold my rod," and then he sailor dives into the bow fully clothed to save that rainbow..
  11. Flyfishy, we should get out there and pound thode beats before the comp starts.
  12. Depending on how along your wife is I can't see any real safety issues.... if she is scheduled to deliver in the next two weeks, then ya you might want to go with out here, but if she can comfortably stand for long periods then no problems. That said my wife hasn't been pregnant, but I have had a lot of people in 100's of drifts in my boat and never had a safety issue that would affect a pregnant lady. Ultimately your call and your protection priorities for your wife are probably at an 11 out of 10. I'd give Josh Nugent a call at Out Fly Fishing.
  13. I think Eric is on the right track that you just wore it out, BUT it does seam really quick. Like Eric, I replace a few lines during a season. I've found the lines degrade faster if the line is commonly cast via single hand spey for some reason.
  14. Wyoming, thanks for the props, BUT I am no longer guiding. I was forced to get a "career" this season..... and this 5 days of work a week thing is just crazy and silly. I don't think there is anyone else guiding the urban section from a drifter, Mike Day at Iron Bow used to do some walk and wades in the city but I am not sure if he is still doing them. there are a lot of great guide out there, contact FishTales and they'll put you on with some good guides or book with Maxwell from this forum.
  15. this is great news, I've been stalking Dalhousie looking for signs of Mike's new shop.
  16. Hmmm, definately something to consider, I was planning on drifting the elk for a couple of days in sept. My money may be spent elsewhere.
  17. My anchour on my drifter does the same thing and I have to stretch it out every 10 drifts or so... I hope someone has a better solution, good question
  18. I was drifting the upper bow a few days ago with Tungsten. We drifted by some clown that had snagged a small trout in the anus with a big streamer, we watched "the angler" pitch the baby trout back in the water like a baseball... well more like a softball, he threw like a 12 year old girl. As we drifted by he jumped up to wave at us, he must of been standing on his line because he snagged his hand with a glass shattering scream. Then he started to cry uncontrollably, Tungsten and I discussed helping this guy but he looked like he may be a hazard to himself and us. We drifted along on our way. Flysquishy was that you?
  19. i've been using barbs because the barbs help the worms stay on the hook
  20. $20,000,000 between 8 projects, should be able to make some real changes with that type of cash............ sheeesh,
