  1. Go get-em cowboy!
  2. I wonder why they had the river sessions so early?Cold no hatches, makes more sense to me anyway to do it later in the day, when the BWO were out.I'm sure more people would have come out to watch when its warmer.
  3. What are guys feeding your dogs?I can't seem to find one that doggy likes.
  4. Wowa there duechie, were merly discussing the possibilitys of where he could have been from. Its what we do when its raining.
  5. Dread rear, my god no wonder this happened.I once had a guy from dread rear ask me at what elevation does a moose become an elk!
  6. Just a guess really, but it was influenced by past experiences at Policemans.
  7. My guess is the guy is from out of town maybe Edmonton. What is a Lincoln anyways?SUV maybe,i'll be sure to let him know if he's 30 seconds too long at the launch!
  8. With the flood I too have been playing more, even a couple of 39's this year! But With fall approaching and a new dog my passion for fishing has been sparked lately and will be on the river every chance I get for the rest of the year. $100 for 4 1/2 hrs of frustration starts to get to ya after awhile.
  9. Those that know me will understand as I always have to rig something up,I drill a small hole in the ice 9' away from the hole.I have a pole maybe 4' long attached is a lag bolt that screws into the ice on the other end is a rod holder that the cork slides into.Tye on a nymph rig and presto ice fishing with a flyrod!
  10. Ya nothing wrong with it,if you drive up the bar a bit its a little deeper but the gravels soft. Most are using it straight out you'll see the tracks, there it will have been compacted a bit.
  11. Sorry wasn't thinking clear last night, epoxy will not stick to an oiled surface.
  12. Pending on its condition .Any soft spots?Do any areas need replacing? My guess is the fir plywood has started to check. This is common.Needs to be sanded and glassed over to protect the ply. Most wood boats were just oiled,if so then the rest can be just cleaned and re oiled no sanding required. Maybe a few pics would help.
  13. Yes,on the river I only let out about 15' so no time at all. When I'm lake fishing 50' takes awhile say maybe 2 minutes but who cares I don't pull anymore!I have a 42lb anchor. It comes with a davit so you can mount it right on top,i think you have to use the minn. anchor though for it to work. You have to be able to take the weight off of the winch when not in use or the sheer pin will go ,if you have a heavy anchor.
  14. I was sick of pulling also, now I just push a button. I had to drill out the rivets to open the bow area but overall not a hard job.
  15. Back in the day you could buy 50 and 100 packs of mustad hooks at walmart for cheap.I still have some of those packs.
  16. Well my search has ended! Meet , 'River' , Came from the city pound, shes about 6 months old and 40lbs.Mix of breeds hard to tell.Webbed feet long tail.Maybe Shepard collie lab?? Seems to listen well.Start training classes in a couple of weeks!
  17. Well that's a hell of an offer thank you,i have too many projects on the go right now and haven't a slightest clue on what to do with it. Maybe once winter rolls around. Thanks for all the info.
  18. Some nice stuff there,I'm interested in getting raw cane.Where does it come from?Price? Is it cheap enough that one could build a few and make a few mistakes?
  19. On the topic of bamboo, where does one get the proper kind for a blank? Is it expensive?
  20. I have an extra pair of size 12 boots and neo socks you can borrow.i wont have time to show you any spots but maybe somebody here will.
  21. Lunker was having trouble posting pics of his boat,so here they are. Looks great! Congrats on the build! Glenmore res. maybe a place for a test float since the water has dropped.
  22. So all good then?Stratmore FD has the right boat and the man power so i'll let them handle it.

Well if its just a change in the rating then your good to go.If you have a problem just buy them separate and mount yourself. If you need help i'm available. I've been checked before by F/W and they never looked.Lots of jets on the bow with more head HP then the boat is rated for. One thing you need for sure is a transom saver. You've seen mine it works well.I've watched boats with small motors go over rail tracks and bumpy roads and its hard on the corners where the little triangles are. Most will crack there over time.
  24. I have tomorrow off I could help,but.... how do I launch? Also not sure if I have enough HP to even get around. And am even allowed to be on the river?

The transom rating is based on the torque that the motor will push not the weight. If the transom says 50HP prop rating then your well under. Mine has a rating of 35HP and I have the 60/40 on it.No problems.
