  1. Maybe I'm misunderstanding all of this?Your saying its illegal to park on the rocks?I've parked there to let my dog run around. Is this no different then parking on the rocks at Mackinnon?
  2. After recovery they rowed the boat down to Mac. Just heard from them boats back on trailer. Record float time ,under 4 hrs
  3. If someone has Murray's # could you tell home to call me pls
  4. I think the city fire dep said no and strathmore fire dep is thinking about it
  5. With the boat fully submerged I don't think pulling with a jet boat is possible. The amount of weight would b somewhere around 1500lbs?Not sure the bow eye would take the force? If anyone has a portable winch let me or the OP know I can get the equipment there. Or does anyone know the owner of the red roof house just downstream of police?
  6. I got time tomorrow to help but not today, let me know. shoot me a text 403 850 3890 mike.
  7. It does depend on the rod,i had an eastfork 10' 6wt with an 8 wt reel to balance.I even had to add 2 colors of lead core line before the backing to get it to not be so tip heavy.I also had a 4wt 10' sage one it also needed a big heavy reel to feel right. Its all what your use too I guess, and if tip heavy bothers you.
  8. The problem I find is there just too dam heavy compared to the same weight rod in 9 foot.A nice fast action 8-9 wt in 9 foot is much easier on the arm for casting heavy rigs.
  9. As far as drag goes,i vote for it should sound like an Islander going out but no noise in.Freespool in so you can give it a quick spin to retrieve the extra line.
  10. Float a 100 yds stop get out walk around repeat.Anchor, fish for 10 minutes, slide down 20 yds anchor again fish repeat. You'll find all the spots within the spots that you just wouldn't see if you just floated by.
  11. Can't help you on the paint but have herd of this" wrapped" what is it?
  12. Ya epoxy is probably the better choice,it has a much longer shelf life, can be mixed with a varity of fillers to change the color and will get a much better bond to the poly resin.
  13. Polyester resin isn't 100% water proof, over time it will absorb water. The gelcoat is what makes it water and UV proof. So my suggestion get yourself a can of gelcoat (waxed) so you can touch it up.IPP in town here carries it.If its really deep then Ipp also has poly resin that you can mix a filler into before the gelcoat. Another option is epoxy but you'll have to paint to match color as gelcoat doesn't stick to epoxy very well.
  14. I now carry a sling shot in my boat, you just never know when you'll need it.
  15. I believe the skinnier the body the better so I use thread or tinsel type materials 99%of the time.
  16. I saw a cool one after following a few links from the vid posted but can't find it now. Basically just a bunch of plastic or Rubbermaid containers put together. Seams like a better idea , breaks apart into a smaller package then for storge.
  17. Only problem is it ends up being heavy, never mind full of stuff. You could go composite materials wrapped in FG but cost will kill you.1/8" plywood wrapped in glass/epoxy would also work, waterproof and lightweight but again$$
  18. I need to put one in my garage, either threw the man door or the wall.I guess a large one isn't that cheap so I need to know some pros and con's.Anyone have one or installed one?
  19. A drift boat?Really? As for Jon boat this really depends on motor size.Flat front and a 20 hp on a 14' boat will knock your teeth out in a 1' chop.Slow the boat down say with a 4hp and its not to bad a little slap. Also when anchor you get the slap.If you plan on getting up on plain then a modified V hull is the better choice.Still rough in chop but a lot less then a flat bow. If its something that your just going to row around in or use electric then look for a boat that is more open or isn't full of benches .Pole seats with the ability to walk around in and a deck up front for sight fishing is the shizza when it comes to still water fishing
  20. I swing them,if I see a rise cast in front and swing it by.Let it sit a few secs before you start to strip it in.Take a step down stream cast swing repeat steel head style. Ive also had luck nymphing them in a riffle,i normally tie 2 on of the same pattern, let them swing at the end.I don't bother with an indy. I also seam to have more luck with patterns that have a tail??So maybe there taking them as caddis not sure but most if not all my September throat samples are boatman.
  21. When fishing 2-5' of depth, which is where the fish are,4x tippet right from the indi/hopper.Thinner line sinks faster so no heavy weights needed.
  22. So when you say " or inches you really mean cm right ?Or maybe just your glasses are a little dirty. Go!
  23. just a guess but maybe some fuel cleaner or carb cleaner sprayed right in the carb. and whats a Honda knock off look like?
