  1. The blue is way easier on the eyes than this. If it aint broken dont fix it. Take air canada's new crappy look as compared to the old clean one with red leaf on black tail. Your gonna mess something up that's good the way it is. cheers.
  2. Rickr. Your a farkin chicken! You shoulda showed Jim how she's done! (or had a fun time embarrasing yourself)
  3. If it was Birchy holding that fish I bet it would looked like a minnow still.
  4. I would have bought a lot of FFC gear if that dumb logo wasnt on it. No offense to max. even if it was me posing for that logo I still dont like it one bit.
  5. spend at least 5 days on the Bow too. Don't miss out on those fish. Not quite secluded, but the lower bow r valley has quite a scenic appeal, it's a wonderfull river full of fish. others to hit N Ram, Red Deer Crow Oldman Livingstone If I were you I'd slip into BC and try some of the Elk R , and tribs there... only 2.5 hrs from calgary.
  6. Ok let's here some stories from whoever got out to the streams today. I'm living vicariously thru u guys for the next couple days.
  7. Yeah he's got a pretty good redneck side to him... I can see him happy as a pig in sh!t fer shooting a gun.
  8. I cant beleive you were anywhere near russ on a lake and had trouble. That guy could find fish in any lake, anywhere, anytime. He's like Bloom. Trashes the rest of us. sounds like a lot of fun out there. Have you guys seen B charles there this year or does he still have a membership? I never did get out there last year with him. I really should try that place once.
  9. Give me my tie-fast tool and a nail knot anyday for dry fly fishing. turns over the leader better and more accurately in MY opinion (at least with my cast) which is very important to me when stalking bow r. fish. Now for nymphing and streamer becuase it's so easy to use nail knots I use 'em... but I wouldn't see a prob w/ a loop to loop there. Whatever floats your boat. There's pros and cons to each way.
  10. aww man you guys made me laugh so hard my skirt flew up! :Hi jack:
  11. Well I had the big "opening" today LOL... ehhemm so I'll be outta commision till friday but on friday I'm gonna go hit some water near home here.
  12. I guess I gotta get a slightly larger fishing gear bag
  13. mornings for nymphin for sure... and if you want to chase dry fly fish late evening has been good. for good flat out fish numbers... nymph from 4:30-10am and your money.
  14. That's just wrong.... that thing shoulda have ate your LEG man! wow! awesome fish!
  15. Yup my IR-2 on my 3wt is by far my favorite peice of fishing gear.. as a matter of fact I own 2 of them Now... if I could just find time to get my 4wt fixed so my wife / kids can use it..
  16. That's a fackkin PIG man. nice work. yeah stocked or not .. I dont care who ya are..that's FUN right there!!!!!
  17. Love the frog shots.
  18. I wish this was on saturday (today) and not sunday. I'd actually be able to make it. Would be kinda neat to see if I can cast as good as I think I can
  19. I use SA Mastery series on my 3WT legend ultra (same rod as you have) and I love it for dries. Matter of fact I use it on the bow too.... no more spooked fish either I can work a fish until I catch it... which you wont be able to do too often with your 5WT in quiet shallow water. If all else fails on that 5WT... I had a guy once tell me he was having a similar problem and that he bought this line grease and applied it before fishing each trip (seems like a lot of work) but to him it made all the difference.. what are the line guides made of on your rod? if there cheaply made steel, maybe replace them with nickel/titanium
  20. good stuff beed!
  21. I'd be willing to bet it's more of a "fly too big" thing than anything else. I'd be willing to bet... that this isn't happening trying to tie a size 16 caddis on 5x... I bet your trying to tie a #4 san juan on 4x or something. Use a duncan loop... it will solve the "oversize fly for tippet" issue. If indeed that was the issue. I could be totally wrong here.
  22. BobLoblaw.. I'm pretty sure those aren't bow river browns. I could be wrong, but those fish look like they came from some of our "smaller" brown trout rivers
  23. Ok that's says a lot. I stand down. *crawls back into a hole*
  24. very, very nice
  25. Don't get me wrong. I fully support streamwatch and the officers they have on the job. I've donated a ton to it. But I'd just like to see all the warnings done away with. cheers
