  1. I won't wade into this, but notice how the same people over and over again have to turn good threads into a "I am better than you becuase" contest..... :$*%&:
  2. Adams Caddis Ant PMD Drake Hopper in season Stone in season should be all ya need for most situations.
  3. 40 ton reel! He was fishing for some BIGGUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice shots. Love the bulls
  4. Large US cities that have these systems also have an ALTERNATE route!!!! Salt Lake City, for example, has the I-15 or the I-215. they both go thru the city. Phoenix has several freeways going through it too. Calgary has ONE!!!!!!!!!! what a bloody waste of your money up there folks. Even if you tell people there going to be stuck for an hour.... what are they going to do about it other than be MORE ticked off? This must have been brought in by the same high powered brain that thought up the Deerfoot-Glenmore interchange. brilliant.
  5. The game against detroit this afternoon is exactly what pisses me off to no end as a Flames fan. THAT ONE WAS DECIDED BY THE IDIOTS IN STRIPES!!!!!! enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 to 5 in total penalties called, plus calling flames for excatly the same stuff det was doing, and calling it in the latter part of the 3rd so detroit could conveniently have a chance to tie it. Total BS :$*%&:
  6. Agreed. Gio. If you read back into this thread a ways you'll see that for many of us, our "love affair" with the Sutter bozo's was over ... ohh... a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago...... Until we have completely new management from top to bottom this team will never reach it's full potential. The players do not want to play for the Sutter's and it shows.
  7. true enough... November has been a bitter taste of reality for us Flames fans. our team does not appear to have what it takes.
  8. all seasons don't protect you from the other idiots on the road. be careful out there boys.
  9. good point and one I would seriously take into consideration for my future proposal on changing a regulation / law. For now, I am simply trying to target those who in the future might haul cargo or a trailer, so that same soccer mom doesn't end up driving down the road some day with a mattress on top of her vehicle attached by one small strap...
  10. LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!! I didn't catch that the first time I read it but I just did now! What a perfect way to describe "them". LOL I call mine "the funbuster" now ... (which, incedentally, get's me a trip to the proverbial "doghouse" if she catches me using that term) The best part of those vids is the review board. The head lady there is a perfect "mother in law" example, ain't it boys? LOLOL
  11. Good question Peter, and one I do have covered in my proposal. Instruction would be done by an officer from the Alberta Department of Transportation. Brian
  12. I tend to agree with you Don... absolutely. That'll be my 4th semester project... proposing regulation/law change
  13. fishing tips: nymph it as your point fly (the last one down the line) under a sjw in the winter. slow'ish deep water is best for this fly, 6-8ft of the slow stuff that wintering fish like on the Bow. Good things should happen when you find some fish!
  14. I used a really easy #18 #18 Mustad silver bead (tungsten) black thread for the body (keep a thin profile though) silver wire ribbing very small amount of peacock hurl right behind the head of the bead. Takes about 3 minutes or so per fly once you get cranking. You can tie about 3 dozen watching a hockey game, and they do work well in the Bow (as well as other places like the crow) Cheers.
  15. Yeah it's my first attempt at a survey. I am trying to put together a proposal that will try to get truck dealerships to put on one day free seminars/courses on trailer techniques and cargo procedure. The courses would not be a mandatory requirement for anyone. The courses would be a good way for the dealerships to 1) promote public safety, and 2) increase their own positive image by doing so.
  16. Hey. I am collecting info about the views of the general public on how safe people are being with trailers and loads they haul around. If you can please take less than a minute of your time to answer a short 8 question clickable survey (easy) I would greatly appreciate it. Survey located at SURVEY MONKEY WEBSITE - MY SURVEY Also, if you have time, please answer one question on this thread. Discuss why if you have time as well. Thanks! I'll add my own opinion later . "do you think Alberta truck dealerships should offer a free one day course to new truck and SUV customers to teach them proper trailer techniques and proper loading procedures?"
  17. For those of us in Lethbridge, there is going to be 429 squadron at the cenotaph at noon, with a fly past at 12:10pm, so look up.
  18. THE FINAL INSPECTION The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining, Just as brightly as his brass. 'Step forward now, you soldier, How shall I deal with you ? Have you always turned the other cheek ? To My Church have you been true?' The soldier squared his shoulders and said, 'No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep... Though I worked a lot of overtime, When the bills got just too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't, I'll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. 'Step forward now, you soldier, You've borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets, You've done your time in Hell.' Author Unknown~
