  1. i also like to tie of at the top of the wire with some red thread to stop the wire from sliding down... ummm looks like you have worms.
  2. I think that with the dramatic growth the flyfishing industry has seen in just the last five years that in 10 to 15 years the push back will be very significant; however with the population growth by that time it might be neccesary. Maybe if the govn't would add the funding to support more CO's in relation to population growth and licences obtained. regulations might enforced better to control the pressure but everyone knows that will NEVER happen because it's not the easy way hmmmmm i wonder if the PC dictatorship will still rule then.
  3. hoping to get out July 25th or 26th a boat would really help.........Anyone?

  5. Hey guy's I was recently working on a house that backs onto Cochrane Lakes in a small sub-division that has been on the lake for many years i was asking the owner about pike populations in the lake and he said that years ago the lake dried up completely and totally killed the lake. Recently three years ago a developer came in and developed the east side of the lake in order to make it a "lake community" the developer refilled the lake and now is providing a constant water source to the lake to avoid it drying up. The info i have on the lake thus far is that there are sections that are 12 feet deep. Some have told me that the ice stays fairly thin in the winter which leads me to suspect spring fed. I have brought this lake to the attention of Jim Stealfox and he has stated that this lake if it meets certain requirements could be a prime candidate for a great fishery close to the calgary area. The requirements are: there is public access (which there is), That the water does not go above 23 degrees Celsius during the hottest part of the year, that it has good oxygen levels during the summer and they need to know the average depth. I am looking for any information that anyone might have on this lake and also someone who might have a canoe and a saturday to go out with me on the lake and gather some info needed to make the next step in turning this body of water back into a productive fishery. Thanks to anyone who can help feel free to post or PM me. Jared.

  8. WOW!!! nice to see they're not all getting bonked!!!!
  9. I don't think that it has to be a hissing match> i think the best thing we could do is email Cindy Ady and let ther know how much we enjoyed hte series, inform her about fishing in alberta and the potential it offers to tourists in alberta. I Know Cindy Ady personaly and a few letters like this goes a long way. I know that even five letters about the 194 ave access to the river would trigger an inquiry by her staff the KEY to getting action from alderman, MLA's, M.P's is follow up one week after your first letter send another asking if they have had a chance to read, investigate and respond to your letter..... The best thing you can do to change government minds is approch positively, concerned and willing to help make change. and (friendly)follow up, (friendly)follow up, (friendly)follow up.

  20. Yes it was ridiculos how many fish we hooked up with it was even more stupid how many we lost after a 5 second fight it was even MORE stupid how many strikes we missed. I think the best fish of the night were the ones we never even managed to land. One that jumped three times sideways two feet until he managed to cross the streams "AAHHH DON'T CROSS THE STREAMS!!!"(snap) or the one that came out of the water as he SLAMED my indicator as i was taking a picture of Ricks fish. Or the monster that that leaped form the water and we in unison "WOOOOWA!" and then the duck as my rig comes flying back to the boat. But the absolute best part was listening to Texas as he comes unbottoned for the 20th time in a row "DAGMANIT!" I'll post pics tonight as soon as i figure out how but i don't have many as Rick said we didn't stop long to fiddle with cameras.
