What king of loop do you use? Do you tie it like you normally do at the end of a tapered leader (over hand type knot), or do you tie it like you would at the end of a flyline? P

I went down to "Writing On Stone Provincial Park"... I know there has been some information presented in previous posts and some FABULOUS photos that Clive shot, but let me tell you, they do not do the area justice (obviously no insult intended Clive, for your photos are spectacular). For those of you that have not been down to that area, please make a point of visiting it in the future. It is an amazing and highly spiritual place! P P.S. I did wet a line for about 5 casts, but to no avail (found out the next day that the water we were fishing was about 4' - 5' deep and my bro-in-law's gear was too basic for that particular water, but we thought we'd give it a try anyway).

Gang, I got nabbed a few months ago, going through a playground zone (lucky it was only photo radar!!) on my way down to fish ... Does anyone know if they are allowed to do this, or are they issued "utility plates" there for can park in no parking/stopping zones? P

Mustang makes a low profile (rolled up) PFD that fits horse shoe style (Wholesale lists them in there catalog) with a hydrostatic valve (when you hit the H2O it releases a CO2 container and "Bob's your uncle"). Only about $150, well worth it IMHO. Run off and during the winter/spring on ice selves for sure. During the summer, probably not necessary (and of course while floating - within the city it's mandatory!). P

Come with me into the high country and we'll cook up a couple of cutties! Now them, there is some good tasting fish!! P

If it's the neo foot, then turn inside out and fill with water. Use caution if the leak is higher up as the weight of the water could blow a seam... If it's on the breathable material (goretex?!) then turn inside out and spray on some rubbing alcohol and look for the dark spots, mark with a felt pen... P

Quinn, You were in the right, and this person should have asked if not given you at least 100 meters either side (just what I've been taught)... It's a big river with lots of runs, doesn't mean someone can just wwalk right up and fish right next to you (unless you know the person ) You kept your cool and tried to educate and that's all you could have done... Just my 2 cents! P

If you are so inclined, it might be a good idea to check woth a CO just to be on the safe side... Just my opinion, however... Hate to see you lose all your gear on an "experiment", or misunderstanding... P P.S. *Edit* Just re-read your post and you'll be fishing in/on a private pond...

If you end up with "fast action" rod (i.e., quite stiff) you may want to over line it "slightly". I think the SA "Head Start" is extremely good value for line. It is weighted a 1/2 weight heavier. I also have some exp. with SA GPX, as well and it is also a tad bit heavier. I am not as familiar with other brands, but I'm sure there are other bands that are the similar, but with Head Start, you'd be hard pressed to find something similar for $35 - $40!! Again, just my opinion... In a perfect world shops would have a variety of reels pre-loaded with a bunch of lines for you to cast on various rods, but I'm sure most do not... P (
