Personally, I prefer a 3 fly rig with a swivel! Usually a wire SJW with 2 other beadhead nymphs under an indy on a 5 wt 9' or 9'6" (or even a 10') fast action rod!! LoL Mazda6 Sport Wagon, roomy and sporty! P

If you do get it, please please please familiarize yourself with the "Residential Tenancy Act", if you aren't already familiar with it! This has "potential problem" written all over it (seeing that this person you are dealing with is a "representative" of the owner or management company)! As a landlord, I would also suggest that you go "month to month" with this one if possible, just in case (definitely nothing more then a 6 month lease!)! P

Absolutely not!! Look what more Calgarians and Edmontonians have done to all the (random) camping areas outside the parks! Even with the (lack of) enforcement within the parks, more people camping only creates more problems IMHO... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to backpack (and fish), but I am willing to give up (some of) my freedom(s) in order to preserve what I have abused (yes I have negatively impacted the ecosystem with my small footprint - we all have [some more then others]). P

More along the lines of a great "dry fly rod" that you could use on "the bow" for example and then use it on a "small creek" (which is why I suggested 8'6" to 7'6" conversion)... P

"Intact ecosystem"!! Really!! in and around Banff & Jasper! Take out the "towns & villages", road ways and rail lines within said "ecosystem" and I would still hesitate to call them "intact"! P

Which ever design you get consider getting one with a longer handle (float tube size). You are still able to hang it from a jacket/vest but you get better fish landing leverage! P

That's becuase there is a lot of revenue generated by "user fees" (to compensate for the lessening tax $'s that are available for parks), less people = less revenue, less revenue = less $ they can put towards concervation initiatives, protection, etc. P

I have always liked the design where you can shorten the rod (say from 8'6" to 7'6") but then what does that do to the wt of the rod? I don't know. You've tried to address that with your current "midge" model (whether it is truly a 3 wt or 4 wt, I'm not sure)... P

Mike, I remember Maxwell mentioning a few years back when I first joined the site that all you need top do is just bend the mustad hooks off to the side a tad bit and then they will no longer poke the fish in the eyes (how's that for a run on sentence!!)... Works well! Cheers, P
