  1. It's just my camera. It's a 10mp Nikon D80 with a stock lens. I cropped the images in photoshop as well.
  2. Not Clive quality, but here they are.... It was funny, I kept seeing people trying to use flash tonight to take a picture of the moon!
  3. It's just starting over here in Ontario. I'll post up some pis if I can get a few decent ones.
  4. is that a softer hackle? Looks like a nice emerger type pattern
  5. It's a minor glitch in the software. I can apply a fix, but it's just a temporary one. I think it is on the list of bugs to fix in a future version.
  6. RIO has a few coldwater specific lines like the clouser that works very well for streamers.
  7. For the trades, you start getting points for this play from this point foward. You keep what the previous play had accumulated. We'll definatly have more trades available next year.

    Why Rhea Works

When you use it, you strip it away from the stem and wrap it like hackle. Some tyers split the stem in half and sand down the stem to help get a stronger base. You can also put it into a dubbing loop to make hackle from loose strands. at 15 bucks a feather, you'll want to make sure you use every last bit.
  10. For sure it's all the great members we have here. If it wasn't for you guys, it'd just be Dave and I talking about how we don't get to fish as much as we need to. Thanks anglers for making the site the success it is today. It's amazing to watch the site grow and evolve as it has over the last couple years. I agree with all the comments about the friendlyness of the site. I think we all have enough stress in our lives and the whole fly fishing / fly tying thing shouldn't add to it. It was great seeing a lot of the FFC'ers at the show in Calgary. Hopefully I can get back in the summer and wet a line with a few of you.
  11. Trades are open until Feb 14. Send a pm with your trades to me. You can trade up to 4 players. (You can trade any position for another).

    Why Rhea Works

Thanks for that link Brent. Rhea is a sweet looking material when it is wet.
  13. Smoke them and them use them in omelletes.
  14. Not too bad looking Brent. Did you manage to see Todd Scharf tie at BRT when he was here. I got lots of pointers off of him when he ties.
  15. I'm thinking wooly buggers RS2 is a good pattern, but use CDC rather than hacle webb.
  16. They all look pretty good. I think the only thing I would suggest is to make the heads a bit larger on your thunder creeks. Other than that, they look pretty nice.
  17. Look up Jan Siman on You tube. He has some great tutorials on using the tool and a few patterns to go along with it. I like the Turbo Dubbing Block and I'm thinking about picking one up soon. There was an article in Fly Tyer a couple issues back that showed how to costruct your own, but for me, it's likely much cheaper just to buy it.
  18. Cool Idea!
  19. Stauffer with a 2-hander, I don't see the need. I do however see where a single hand spey cast would drastically increase you chances of avoiding the bushes. Casting a 2 hander in Stauffer is like casting it in a wall-mart isle. Not saying it can't be done, I'd love to see it attemped though.
  20. Sorry I missed out on this. Hopefully this becomes a yearly tradition. BTW, it was nice to meet you at the show Rick (and everyone else for that matter).
  21. Just an FYI, I was speaking with the SA rep and asked about the guide wear. They test the line at SA by continuously running it through a metal guide material to measure the wear. What they found is that the regular line waers the guides faster than the sharkskin, likely because of the reduced friction. He also mentioned that while he was testing the line over 3 days that his fingers suffered after stripping the line. If you use the line for any length of time, consider wearing a stripping glove or something.
  22. If your bringing flies for CFR, drop them off at the FFC booth. I'm not sure if Kerry will be there today, but I'll make sure that they get sent his way.
  23. Me neither.... Who ever wins it is going to be one happy camper. We probably have 200 flies in there right now and what ever else we can bang out today. I wish I could enter.
