  1. Not too bad looking Brent. Did you manage to see Todd Scharf tie at BRT when he was here. I got lots of pointers off of him when he ties.
  2. I'm thinking wooly buggers RS2 is a good pattern, but use CDC rather than hacle webb.
  3. They all look pretty good. I think the only thing I would suggest is to make the heads a bit larger on your thunder creeks. Other than that, they look pretty nice.
  4. Look up Jan Siman on You tube. He has some great tutorials on using the tool and a few patterns to go along with it. I like the Turbo Dubbing Block and I'm thinking about picking one up soon. There was an article in Fly Tyer a couple issues back that showed how to costruct your own, but for me, it's likely much cheaper just to buy it.
  5. Cool Idea!
  6. Stauffer with a 2-hander, I don't see the need. I do however see where a single hand spey cast would drastically increase you chances of avoiding the bushes. Casting a 2 hander in Stauffer is like casting it in a wall-mart isle. Not saying it can't be done, I'd love to see it attemped though.
  7. Sorry I missed out on this. Hopefully this becomes a yearly tradition. BTW, it was nice to meet you at the show Rick (and everyone else for that matter).
  8. Just an FYI, I was speaking with the SA rep and asked about the guide wear. They test the line at SA by continuously running it through a metal guide material to measure the wear. What they found is that the regular line waers the guides faster than the sharkskin, likely because of the reduced friction. He also mentioned that while he was testing the line over 3 days that his fingers suffered after stripping the line. If you use the line for any length of time, consider wearing a stripping glove or something.
  9. If your bringing flies for CFR, drop them off at the FFC booth. I'm not sure if Kerry will be there today, but I'll make sure that they get sent his way.
  10. Me neither.... Who ever wins it is going to be one happy camper. We probably have 200 flies in there right now and what ever else we can bang out today. I wish I could enter.
  11. Great to see a lot of people out there today and put some faces to the names. The space is actually just shy of twice as big as last year.
  12. Cash only please. Taxes are included.
  13. BTW, If anyone has flies they can donate to Casting For Recovery, Kerry Pitt (Writer1) will be collecting flies to send in on behalf of Fly Fish Calgary and Fly Angler. Any flies you can donate are much appreciated and will be going towards a great cause.
  14. Check the schedule at http://flyfishingevents.com
  15. See here for a link. http://flyfishcalgary.com/board/index.php?showtopic=3016
  16. I'll see what I can do. I'm not at home, and so I don't have access to the usual array of web tools.
  17. They have a paper backing to them in a lot of cases so if you use Tuffleye or epoxy that shoiuld work. My preference for eyes is to use the molded eyes and I use Zap-A-Gap to stick them on.
  18. There is now a coupon posted for you guys to get a couple bucks off the entry fee. There is food service there as well, wraps, soups beverages, I hear it is much better than at the Max Bell Center. Nothing licenced, but I heard a rumor there were jello shots in the kids area, get there early.
  19. Brent (Weedy1), I'll find out about the food and discount this morning for you. When you get into the show, come by the booth and see me, I have something for you.
  20. We'll have some gear available after the show. We'll be putting up a shop page somewhere. Sorry to hear you can't come down, but if the 1% happens, swing by.
  21. Just once, on the LSR near a hot spot. Other than that no. I have met a few CO's on the rivers and lakes and not been asked.
  22. Nicely Done. The top down view looks great.
  23. Your thinking of Paul Whillock - http://www.paulwhillock.com/ That's pretty shitty about Grahm's images, but it does boad well for his skills as a realistic tyer. Thanks for the link Sarah, I'll definatly give it a read.
  24. Wow, that sucks, but just think of all the nymphs that dog hair will tie. I've seen this happen a lot, but you got hit hard. Ussually it's just one old saddle....
