  1. While I'm saving you money here's another one. Tube supplies. http://www.canadiantubeflies.com/flytying-flectube.html Scoobies/scoubies or whatever they are called over there do the same job. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f18/usdun/SBS/sf6.jpg

    Help

Looks good enough to be a Baetis for me.
  3. 10 for $4.49 http://cgi.ebay.ca/FELTING-NEEDLES-TEN-38-...1QQcmdZViewItem Fly tying suppliers $4.95 EACH http://www.flyfishusa.com/fly-tying/tube-f...%20Fly%20Needle
  4. Do a search on ebay for felting needles. Stick it in the vise, you may need to flatten the faces of the needle to stop it moving. Slide on tube (cotton bud). If the tube spins a piece of flexifloss will stop it. They even take the tubes with liners already inserted. These are very similar to Frodin's needles that cost a LOT more than you'll get the felting needles for.
  5. Hook: #14 FM Nymph Tails: PT Body: olive latex Wingscase: olive latex and black goose fibres Legs: Game feather fibres, I think I used Woodcock Thorax: seal I know................... the barb.
  6. A Panasonic DMC-LZ2 point and shoot. Good macro on it but the main thing is setting the white balance to your tying lights, if you don't do this the photo has a colour cast to it.
  7. Nice. Try one with the bead in the thorax behind the hackle, gives the hackle more movement in the water. I'm not saying you should tie them all this way but it's worth having a few in the box.

    Midge Tutorial

Nice mdige. Try a drop of varnish on the thread underbody before you wrap the stripped quill, strengthens the quill and you don't see the varnish on the fly.
  9. Taco wins just by having the rare as rocking horse dooh dah Mustad #32 hooks (I wouldn't sully them with fur or feather either, well maybe one). As for a #24 intruder......... forget it, tie the stinger on and the hook is full.
  10. Found a picture of one of Hans' Baby Bones.........#24
  11. I'll leave the #28/30 clousers to Hans W, I had enough trouble seeing this. As for the vise jaws holding small hooks....... no problem with a LAW. If I knew what one looked like I may try it.
  12. Peacock herl from the wrong side of the sword feather, red 12/0 thread for the body tag, micro Zelon for the wing and get down into the neck on the cape for the hackle. This is on a #28 TMC100.
  13. Oliver Edwards, I always pick up something when I watch his dvds. Woven stonefly. Hook: #8 4x longshank Kamasan B800 Underbody: lead Body: Yellow/Olive/Black embroidery thread Wingcase: Olive body stretch Legs: Flexifloss Dubbing: Yellow seal's fur Antenna/Tails: Pheasant tail fibres
  14. I can do pretty, they don't catch as well as the dull ones but look nice.
  15. Danielsson Original with Orvis LA Battenkill close second.
