    Double Humpy Plus

I once had a Dragonfly try to run off with one of my red humpies. It was amazing that he actually got all of the leader in the air. That's my fondest humpy memory.

Nice lovely fishy humps. You are really giving your vise a workout.

    The Red Bug

The Diamond Dub Bronze Olive is by far my favourite colour. I mix it with some CDC in the magic tool for some neat little caddis patterns.
  4. Best of luck Lynn. Enjoy the legal high
  5. Sorry, but you are just a bit late in getting in on the season. I'm sure that we'll have another pool next year. Week 6 update. Lots of moves this week for sure. We will have a trade coming up soon, so kep an eye out for any slackers on your team.
  6. Hey Sarah, glad to hear that the drugs kicked in. Here is a picture of the fly in questions. I think it would do pretty well on the bow, anyone tried it before?
  7. 5x Fluoro most of the time and 4x mono for dries. I might go with a thicker flouro if I tie on streamers.
  8. Nice, but not good for stitching. No worries, we're working on some better things. Keep your eyes on the forum for updates.
  9. I think you are referencing the "Amero". Someone had sent a video to me a while back that was made to scare, but I think it's mostly a hoax. Here is one of the youtube videos. People talking about having "V-Chips" implnated..... Click here if the movie does not play. There is a company out there who produces novelty Amero coins. http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/amero.asp It's insane just how fast things are chaning. It's scary really. I never thought I would see the Canadian dollar sitting at 1.10US.
  10. I use for mixing feathers and dubbing into dubbing loops. It's great for taking 2 different coloured feathers and effectivly combining them into one. If you seen Marc tying at the show last year, you would have seen it being used in several different ways. I use it to remove the skin from rabbit zonkers as well to slim down some of my leech patterns. It's a good tool IMHO, but it's not something for everyone.
  11. You can also find small corks at craft shops. I've used them to mount some flies before.
  12. If you have been getting some inferior products, write the manufacturer. They might not be aware of the problem or it may be old stock in the shop. I've had some bad product in the past and written them. I had it replaced free of charge.
  13. It's still really early and it's anyone's game, but you are looking good where you sit in the standings. I'll be giving the top 3 finishers a share of flies. So, here is this weeks results.
  14. Snowshoe Rabbit foot has some natural waterproffing in it and makes a good material for dries. I haven't used the underfur of bears for dries, but I have used it on lots of wets. I'm not sure it would stay boyant all that long. It does create a lot of room to trap air bubbles in, so it may float for a few casts. Black and Brown bear is pretty easy to get, so give those a try. Would Grizzly be that much different from those? The best hairs for floating flies are Deer Belly Hair, Elk Hair, Caribou, Moose and Deer Hair.
  15. Streamers always look good framed up. You don't need to tie huge ones, but even a mickey Finn onder glass looks nice. Ikea has some good frames for flies. I've always had a hard time finding just the right box. You might want to talk to Glen (glenbow) about some of the shadow boxes he has. He has a pretty good selection and I think he even has some Devlin originals framed up somewhere.

    Cdc Question

The Magic tool is great. Also look at getting a turbo dubbing spinner and make long cdc dubbing ropes up ahead of time and have them ready to use.
  17. Hook: Mustad 94840 #14 Thread: Light Olive Tail: Pale green antron Middle section of body: Fluorescent Pink Floss (middle 1/3) body- light olive ice dubbing. Dubbed lightly over hotspot mid-wing: bleached deer hair wing tied over mid point Will pm Kungfool for to be the next victim.
  18. Ya, that giant fish looks pretty tiny in his hands. Grats dude.
  19. are you logging in with different computers? Try clearing you cashe. It may help. We have had to implement a number of security patches in order to keep the site free of spammers and script kiddies. Depending on your browser and version, it might explain the problem you are having with being kept logged in.
  20. Also note that the Atlantics don't always die and that they may spawn several times over their life. A lot of the salmon I have seen spend a lot of energy to get to the right spawning grounds. So much that they are pretty much dead by the time they get there. It's hard work swimming upstream in 4 inches of water. In rainbows (steelhead) they need to spawn and release their eggs / sperm or they can get eggbound. I've been told that this shorten's their life if they can't release. Part of the reason that some lakes in BC have installed spawning channels is to help the fish live longer / grow larger. Perhaps a biologist can better explain the reasons.
  21. Nice slabs guys.
  22. 12 flies, and they don't have to be the same thing. It's probbly better if they are different patterns. It looks like you may be getting back the lions share LS.
