  1. There is a planned outage of the site in order to upgrade hardware. We'll be taking the forum offline during this time to prevent database errors. The outage should only last a few hours. pacres
  2. Nice work. You might want to limit the ribs to 5 wraps so the die hard atlantic guys don't give you a hard time. lol Once you get them all done, you should arrange them into a mosaic and snap a photo. The hairwings look great like that.
  3. Did you try a repair on Office?
  4. Cool video Birchy. Cool link too. Pehaps they bury thier dead like we do?
  5. PM sent Hawgstoppah Any 12 flies will do, Any patterns or sizes are fine. If anyone else is sending flies, PM me for an address.
  6. Liquid lace is more flexible and easier to work with IMO. Take a look at the fly gallery from Unique Flyfishing. Look at the chironomids on the page. http://www.uniqueflyfishing.com/index.php?page=flies
  7. Is that your work here? [
  8. I'm not sure how the Larva Lace looks with oil injected into it, but the Liquid lace sure makes an incredible difference. I have a few of the liquid lace flies Randy Deifert tied up in Calgary and the difference is pretty much night and day between the two.
  9. Great action on Cotote and fox. The coyote is a bit softer than the fox I have used. If you want the natural colour, go for the coyote, but for bright colours, use the dyed fox.
  10. Those ones with the silver rib look uber cool Tako
  11. It's just my camera. It's a 10mp Nikon D80 with a stock lens. I cropped the images in photoshop as well.
  12. Not Clive quality, but here they are.... It was funny, I kept seeing people trying to use flash tonight to take a picture of the moon!
  13. It's just starting over here in Ontario. I'll post up some pis if I can get a few decent ones.
  14. is that a softer hackle? Looks like a nice emerger type pattern
  15. It's a minor glitch in the software. I can apply a fix, but it's just a temporary one. I think it is on the list of bugs to fix in a future version.
  16. RIO has a few coldwater specific lines like the clouser that works very well for streamers.
  17. For the trades, you start getting points for this play from this point foward. You keep what the previous play had accumulated. We'll definatly have more trades available next year.

    Why Rhea Works

When you use it, you strip it away from the stem and wrap it like hackle. Some tyers split the stem in half and sand down the stem to help get a stronger base. You can also put it into a dubbing loop to make hackle from loose strands. at 15 bucks a feather, you'll want to make sure you use every last bit.
  20. For sure it's all the great members we have here. If it wasn't for you guys, it'd just be Dave and I talking about how we don't get to fish as much as we need to. Thanks anglers for making the site the success it is today. It's amazing to watch the site grow and evolve as it has over the last couple years. I agree with all the comments about the friendlyness of the site. I think we all have enough stress in our lives and the whole fly fishing / fly tying thing shouldn't add to it. It was great seeing a lot of the FFC'ers at the show in Calgary. Hopefully I can get back in the summer and wet a line with a few of you.
  21. Trades are open until Feb 14. Send a pm with your trades to me. You can trade up to 4 players. (You can trade any position for another).
