    Caddis

Those look solid. I love the hare as well. I think that you're much better off using the foam here rather than chenille. The chenille (or yarn ) will just take on water. Killer design.
  6. fixed. LE, stop breaking the internets. lol
  7. I've noticed a few brands of hooks that just don't cut it I won't mention which brands, but they are on the less expensive end of the scale. A lot of hooks all come from the same few factories and are simply branded under different names. I think that there has been a decline in the quality coming from these places it would seem. I recently bought a batch of 1000 hooks and ended up sending them back after a couple broke in the vise. Luckily they didn't get sent out to customers, a steelhead or salmon would snap it in no time. That being said, I have broken and bent out pretty much any brand of hook, but it should take some effort. Side pressure from thread shouldn't break a hook. I tend to stick to more expensive hooks. I tie a lot of flies for customers every year and it the hooks break, my reputation goes with it. Some more specialized hook models are only available in specific brands and it isn't an issue, but for the most common types, buyer beware, you get what you pay for.
  8. Gratz man! Happy Birthday Rick.
  9. That's when it's time to take a swim. Good idea with the shot though.

  11. Have a good one man.
  12. Nice bugs Chris. Those expensive feathers look sweet tied in.
  13. They had good burgers, pita, sandwiches and smokies last year. The food was pretty good.
  14. If you want an auto bobbin you could also look at the Ekich, which is designed to use standard spools. But there is no reason you can't use a regular bobbin on the vise.
  15. Definitely check it out before you buy. I've seen for priced about 375 - 400 in Canada
  16. I think anyone can get it actually. Ya, I think we're even expecting at the same time. There will soon be a private spot on the forums open only to those who recently lost the will to fish because of babies. Keep your eyes open for an announcement coming soon.
  17. Sweet! Those look tasty.
  18. It is actually But now the wife is pregnant and that trumps a transplant, so I'm stuck shoveling cat turds.
  19. Nice beasts. I've been tying up a lot on tubes the last couple weeks. The Black orange is killer looking.
  20. Mylar tinsel - Silver orange and peacock green (UNI) The holographics are nice too. Mylar under stretch flex, Gliss and Glo is really sweet too.

Sweet, I've yet to catch one on the fly. had lots on gear over the years though.
  23. From Ranger Bob A woman goes into Cabela's to buy a rod and reel for her grandson's birthday. She doesn't know which one to get so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter. A Cabela's associate is standing there wearing dark shades. She says, 'Excuse me, sir. Can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?' He says, 'Ma'am, I'm completely blind; but if you'll drop it on the counter, I can tell you everything from the sound it makes. She doesn't believe him but drops it on the counter anyway. He says, 'That's a six-foot Shakespeare graphite rod with a Zebco 404 reel and 10-LB. Test line. It's a good all around combination; and it's on sale this week for only $20.00.' She says, 'It's amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I'll take it!' As she opens her purse, her credit card drops on the floor. 'Oh, that sounds like a Master Card,' he says. She bends down to pick it up and accidentally farts. At first she is really embarrassed, but then realizes there is no way the blind clerk could tell it was she who tooted. Being blind, he wouldn't know that she was the only person around? The man rings up the sale and says, 'That'll be $34.50 please. 'The woman is totally confused by this and asks, 'Didn't you tell me the rod and reel were on sale for $20.00? How did you get $34.50? He replies, 'Yes, Ma'am. The rod and reel is $20.00, but the Duck Call is $11.00 and the Catfish Bait is $3.50. *
  24. Look pretty good. Nice job on the whole. A couple additions I would suggest. Add a place to dry flies, either a bead chain strung up or a piece of foam. Add a magnet strip for holding hooks / flies. The hole under the vise, I would make an insert for there and then put a hole in the table top to use as a place to store the waste.
  25. Oh ya, those are fun too.
