  4. Sun, do you have a list of what species they plan on stocking? I've been to the Toronto store and it's a really awesome aquarium they have. Some monster musky, bass, bows and browns living in there.
  5. Thanks for the update Leroy. I'll have to keep an eye out for one of my own.
  6. Wahooo! Have a good one. Old Man Birchy rocking on his porch sees a young kid and his fishing pole walking down the dirt road. "Where you goin' with that pole?" he calls. "Gonna git me some fish with this here fishing pole!" answers the kid. Sure enough, as the sun is setting the old man sees the kid going home with a bucket of fish. Next day, Old Man Birchy rocking on his porch sees the kid walking down the dirt road with some duct tape. "Where you goin' with that?" he calls. "Gonna git me some ducks with this here tape!" answers the kid. "You can't git no ducks with tape!" hollers Old Man Birchy . But sure enough, as the sun is setting, Old Man Birchy sees the kid going home with the tape strung out behind him and ducks stuck all over it! Next day, Old Man Birchy rocking on his porch sees the kid walking down the dirt road with some chicken wire. "Where you going with that?" he calls. "Gonna get me some chickens with this wire!" answers the kid. "You can't get no chickens with wire!" hollers Old Man Birchy. But sure enough, as the sun is setting, Old Man Birchy sees the kid going home with the wire strung out behind him and chickens stuck all through it! Next day, Old Man Birchy rocking on his porch sees the kid walking down the dirt road with some pussy willows. "Now hold on just a minute" he calls, "wait while I get my hat!!"
  7. Leroy was at the Spruce medows show in January. I missed his tying seminars, but I did get to chat with him a few minutes in Howard hackles booth. You can also download seasons 2-4 on the KWSU site FTW - http://kwsu.org/Offers/FlyTying.aspx

Those look solid. I love the hare as well. I think that you're much better off using the foam here rather than chenille. The chenille (or yarn ) will just take on water. Killer design.
  21. fixed. LE, stop breaking the internets. lol
  22. Would you invest in your flyfishing future? Shortly after offering their St Mary's Riverside properties for sale in June last year St Mary's Riverside Lots got their first "fishing lodge" inquiry. Since then they have heard from several more fly fishing enthusiasts asking a similar question. These folks are suggesting flyfishers would prefer to spend a week or two in a rustic fishing lodge (in which they ownerd a share) than to undertake the purchase of a riverside property and the construction of their own seasonal residence in Nova Scotia. With our help they are conducting a survey to determine whether enough folks are interested in this idea to make it viable. Please take a minute to learn more about the project and to provide some feedback on the idea http://www.aco.ca/fishing_camp/fly_fishing_club.html
  23. I've noticed a few brands of hooks that just don't cut it I won't mention which brands, but they are on the less expensive end of the scale. A lot of hooks all come from the same few factories and are simply branded under different names. I think that there has been a decline in the quality coming from these places it would seem. I recently bought a batch of 1000 hooks and ended up sending them back after a couple broke in the vise. Luckily they didn't get sent out to customers, a steelhead or salmon would snap it in no time. That being said, I have broken and bent out pretty much any brand of hook, but it should take some effort. Side pressure from thread shouldn't break a hook. I tend to stick to more expensive hooks. I tie a lot of flies for customers every year and it the hooks break, my reputation goes with it. Some more specialized hook models are only available in specific brands and it isn't an issue, but for the most common types, buyer beware, you get what you pay for.
  24. Gratz man! Happy Birthday Rick.
