toolman
No offense, but I prefer to support the Calgary flyshops and local tyers. These folks support our local fishery and are hands on involved in our local conservation efforts.
Fly007
The local shops also support local fly tiers. The supplier up north seems to be an importer from overseas tying houses. Their prices are way too low to be anything else. Just my thoughts.
ericlin0122
are you sure none of fishtales and ironbow flies are made in china?
MMAX
I once had an employees from one of those Calgary stores (can't remember which one) tell me that he tied every one of those flies himself....hmmm ok.

That is what I was doing when i originally posted answering OP. Trick flies is just down the road aways from me. However I tend to spread "local" out to be all Alberta more than the town I live in. As I fish all over Alta.

Hooks bend out, "whip finishes" come apart. You get what you pay for.
Bcsteel
I just checked out the site, extremely cheap prices. I tie myself, these costs don't cover material. Never mind time???????????????????
walker1
I ordered 30 flies to throw out some support. You get what you pay for and ordered some that I don't tie often.
