the only slightly strange story i have is from a fishing trip down south a few years ago. i was fishing from a ledge/ over hang about 10ft off the water and i was just dancing a dry fly about a foot from the water, practicing soft landings and easy delivery to a bunch of small like 4inches small cutthroats hanging out in a feeding lane. so the fly is in the air fluttering about and this very silly cutthroat decides to take a flying leap at it. 4inch fish, jumped more than a foot out of the water and yes in deed, he hooked himself. reeled him in and gently tossed him back in to the water, laughing my ass off. i had never seen such a small fish jump that far out of the water to eat a very small bug. other than that, my fishing life is fairly boring. go, i catch fish, i leave.

oh ouch dustin. that sux. you probably found a rock cod if you were trolling deep enough. strangely rods to the same thing in salt and fresh water if there is a fish on it.

bloody hell, of all the crap i own, you would think that i would have red something, anything. but no. it seems i'm going to have to hunting for red stuff. oh well, i'm sure i needed more materials anyway.

i second rainbow's first link - mark roberts is great and his videos are very easy to follow. helped me out a bunch on some intermediate/advanced techniques.

LOL. too funny. btw lundvike, i didnt know you worked with brookwell. took me until today to figure out who the hell he was talking about then he mentioned our 'deal' a troutfitters. so when his burning DVD's ... er ... i mean working... do you tie flies? try 17/0 black thread and a few pieces of left over fluff secured to the hook. if you can get the hook into the vise without covering the whole thing in the jaws... best of luck, let me know how it works out.

why thank you snakeman. now that the voting is over, here is a better picture of the body that you can't see in the other picture. it may be a good bully fly. but for an hour per fly (see body) i think it will just go in the box and a modified one will be used. fishietails - way too funny. the big mac nearly made me fall out of my chair.

i have some of the material. both of weedy1's packages are flashabou - wholesale and russells have it. the green is flashabou 6955. i dont have the orange. also comes in pink and yellow. there is also a white which is not flashabou. it is creamy mylar motion - again, russells has it. Weedy1, where did you get the glow beads or do you have a package name?

Hey sun, next weekend should be not too bad for me, but not first thing in the morning and it has to be around -5. i'm kind of sick of the -20 BS we are having and have very little tolerance for being cold since getting back from vacation. but i would love to come out. it would be fun. no way was that even on the scale of bad days fishing. giving up a fish so she could say she caught it... that was a bad day.
