  3. hey due im not too sure if there are many or any carp fisheries in alberta..i heard they put the grasscarp in some of the irrigation canals on the bow so that might not be a bad place too look..unless theres some carp pond thats gone unmentioned....goodluck on your quest dude
  4. hey dude mono has stretch, floats more and is more visable under water....fluoro has no stretch sinks and is less visable underwater..i use nylon...left field i no..but if u like mono stick with it...if them bullies are turning u down it may be best too have soem fluoro in ur pocket for the quick switch...same with droppers under hoppers...thats teh only times i use fluoro....its key in key situations
  5. sockeye harps...no spots right! havnt bin out too the coast lookin at salmon in a while...
  6. august or sept is deadly up there talkin too family and freinds up tehre..ide say start north and get ur grayling then u have all teh tiem in teh world too work your way back home.

  9. i cant speak for this example today al but in teh past if i see them diggin in bait tubs..fork sticks kickin back or someone with fish on a stringer, bag etc..i call it in...alot of them are just ignorant and will tell ya what tehre doin and show u the big catch with no real clue they are doing anything wrong....most dotn have liscences either if u ask...then comes the ringalingding
  10. hey dude i havnt had enough time fishing it too really speak strongly about it but i stretch the line i plan too shoot before i cast too take the coils out of it...i think it might be a little easier too manage if u were in the water versus the icy banks of the bow for snagging on stuff at you feet..or a stripping basket maybe...
  11. right on...gettin the tally chart goin early!

  15. yea i here ya TM...but all around im lovin the elixer for my switch 7112 and both speys 8116 blue and my 8126 alchemy...the rods are really starting too rock now...exspecially with the poly leader kit too match!
  16. bang on harps bang freakin on! i yaka dissaprin
  17. check ur pm's dude
  18. sounds great don
  19. hey dude i foudn that with my single handers i had too tape them mainly because they were designed for more overhand casting and not twisting the blank while rolcasting so they fell apart on me..with the spey rods i taped for a while but stopped latley mainly becasue i feel my mechanics are getting better and im gettin lazy when the fingers are numb....with the switch i cant see it being a problem but if u notice that your rod sections are twisting ide strongly recommend taping....it makes the blank never twist and casts 100% everytime..and you dont halfto worry abotu snapping the ferrals......i really like the tape...looking into wax...will keep ya updated...wax have tons of grip so i could see it being hard too take apart if ur one too jam the rod together and make it "stay there good"...
  20. definetly the most memorable fish this year was "angus"! i will never forget...i lost this brute several times for the past 2 years...took the red midge size 20... all teh tence screamin, cringing and yellin as he swam/flopped over teh dipped net..then silence once he was in the net a few seconds later.... as for most memorable trip.....theres too many too count..had tons of amazing days with good friends, new friends, clients, family, board members etc....thanks
  21. i stopped gilling fish holding them horizontal or not mainly because you are stressing and bending ligaments that are not suppose too be ebnt that far...bass like mentioned above in rule 10 in the ontario regs. are the most abused..there mouth is a quick open shut joint not mega spread and let the whole body weight straing the jaw...back too holding trout in teh gills..if tehy struggle your fingers are thrashing around behind the gillplate and in teh gill tissue thus damaging there breathing system....once you stick ur finger in the gills and let teh fish rest u are stressing the fish...try it on urself dude
  22. you could try knotsence but i would say stick too glue..
  23. nice work dude
  24. hey harps jstu picked up a few clw's and they looks great...lightweightr with tons of backing/ line capacity...they look pretty tough too me and are a steal at the price...
  25. liek brent said adding glue too teh tail will give it more of a "backbone" and have a better fishy profile..i dotn use glue because i like all the action "twin" tails give off the back end...its a preference thing i suppose..sometimes my tails swing around teh hook bend but its no big deal if u check ur rig before casting...
